HomeMy WebLinkAbout611 Speed Zones~ c~' ORDINANCE NO. 611 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF UKIAH REPEALING SPEED ZONES AND ESTABLISHING SPEED ZONES PURSUANT TO A TRAFFIC AND ENGINEERING STUDY IN EXCESS OF TWENTY-FIVE (25) MILES PER HOUR The City Council of the City of Ukiah does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 610 - "An Ordinance Of The City Of Ukiah, Establish- ing, Pursuant To A Traffic And Engineering Study, A Speed Limit In Excess Of Twenty-Five (25) Miles Per Hour" is hereby repealed in its entirety. SECTION 2. Section 7070 is added to Article 4, Chapter 1, Division 8, of the Ukiah City Code and reads: Section 7070 - Speed Zones defined: Within the City limits of the City of Ukiah there is hereby established, unless otherwise stated, a speed zone of twenty-five (25) miles per hour. SECTION 3. Section 7071 is added to Article 4, Chapter 1, Division 8, of the Ukiah City Code and reads: Section 7071 - Excess Speed Zone: There is hereby established exceptions to the speed zone set forth in Section 7070 to exist as hereafter set forth. 1) Perkins Street: Thirty-five (35) miles per hour to run East and West from Orchard Avenue to Oak Manor Drive. 2) State Street: Thirty-five (35) miles per hour to run north and South from Magnolia Street to the North City Limits of the City of Ukiah. 3) State Street: Thirty-five (35) miles per hour to run North and South from Washington Avenue to the South City Limits of the City of Ukiah. SECTION 4. PUBLICATION The Clerk is directed to cause this ordinance to be published as provided by law in the Ukiah Daily Journal, a newspaper of general circulation, published and printed in the City of Ukiah. SECTION 5. EFFECTIVE DATE This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after its adoption.
