HomeMy WebLinkAbout586 Annexing of Alex Thomas4 ORDINANCE N0. 586 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "66-1 (ALEX THOMAS)" TO THE CITY OF UKIAH BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH: WHEREAS, on the 27th day of July, 1966, the Council of the City of Ukiah did pass and adopt Resolution No. 67-7 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Ukiah, said territory being therein designated as "Annexa- tion No. 66-1 (Alex Thomas)" said Resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and 'rlHEREAS, said Resolution No. 67-7 did contain a notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City would hear protests made by any person owning real property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than forty nor more than sixty days from the date of passage of said Resolution; and WHEREAS, on the 14th day of September, 1966, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Ukiah, County of Mendocino, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 67-7 for hearing protests to the said annexation, and at the regular meetings of September 21, 1966 and October 5> 1966, the times to which said hearing was duly and regularly contihued, the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the privately owned territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public owners of one-half of the value of the publicly owned territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of ' Ukiah, and is uninhabited territory in the Councy of Mendocino; NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of Ukiah does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter i a 5 described to the City of Ukiah, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Ukiah. That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of Ukiah is herein approved, is all that territory situate in the County of Mendocino, State of California, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the East line of Oak Manor Drive with the South line of East Perkins Street, al<a Vichy Springs Road, said point being on the present City limits; thence from said poont of beginning and leaving said City limits North 00 54' S3" 'n'est 40.0 feet to a point on the North line of said East Perkins Street; thence following said North life South 89 05'07" West 360.0 feet; thence North 00 54'53" West 200.0 feet;othence South 89 05'07" West 300.0 feet; thence North 84 10'25" West 435.0 feet more or less to a point on the Easterly line of California State Highway 101 Freeway; thence following said East line North 3 39'57" West 225.0 feet; thence North 8 08'39" West 305.37 feet; thence North 1 111'22" West 201.66 feet; thence North 8 31'45" West 700.0 feet; thence North 7 05'51" West 200.06 feet• thence North 8'31'45" West 693.0 feet to the southwest corner of a parcel now owned by the City of Ukiah, said south- west corner being a point on the South line of Lot 14 of Revised Subdivision of the Brunner Briggs Addition No. 1 according to map as filed in the office of the Mendocino County Recorder in Map Case 1, Drawer 3, Page 56; thence from said southwest corner and following sai d South 1 i ne of sai d Lot 14 and Lot 13 of sai d Brunner Briggs Addition No. 1 North 76`29' East to the Southeast corner of said Lot 13, said corner also being the south- east corner of Lot 19 of Yokayo Rancho according to Healy's Map and Survey on file in the office of the Mendocino County Recorder; thence following the East line of the heretofore mentioned Lot 13> said East line also being the East line of Lot 19 of Yokayo Rancho, North 42 2g' West 332.21 feet to the southwest corner of a parcel conveyed by Alex R. Thomas, Jr, et al to City of Ukiah according to deed recorded in Book 713 at Page 623 et segocf Mendocino County Official Records; thence North 88 34' East 295.54 feet; thence North 185.85 feet; thence 'West 472.42 feet to a point on the East line of the heretofore mentioned Lot 13; thence following said East line South 42 29' East to the north- east corner of said Lot 13; thence following the Northerly line of said Lot 13 Northwesterly and following the former channel of the Russian River, to the Easterly corner of a parcel now owned by Ruel R. Stickney et al according to Decree of Distribution as filed in Book 213 of Page 13 of Mendocino County Official Records; thence following the South line of said Stickney parcel West to a point on the East line of River Street as delineated on heretofore mentioned map of Brunner Briggs Addition No. l; thence following said East line of River Street South 2 34'17" East to a point on the East line of the heretofore mentioned California State High- way, said point also being on the South line of Brush Street according to heretofore mentioned Brunner Briggs Addition No. l; thence following said South line South 89~30'S3" West 210.0 feet to a point on the West line of said California State Highway; thence following said 'West line South 8 31'45" East 25.26 feet; thence South 89 30'53" West 84.77 feet mare or less to a point on the West line of Lot 14 of heretofore mentioned Brunner Briggs Addition Ng, l; thence following said West line of Lot 14 South 2 21' West 324.72 feet to the Southwest corner of said Lot 14; thence South 76 29' West 47.40 feet to a point on the West line of Lot 86 of hereto- fore mentioned Yokayo Rancho, thence following said West line of Lot 86 South to a point on the present City limits; thence following said present City limits Easterly, Southerly, then Easterly to the point of begi nni ng. ADOPTED THIS 26th day of October, 1966, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Scotto, Crook, Henderso n, Harlowe and Mayor Norgard. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. s/Hattie M.
