1. CALL TO ORDER:

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
M/S Townsend/Kageyama, it was carried by an all AYE voice vote of the members present to
approve the January 8, 2008, minutes as submitted.
3. AUDIENCE COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS:
None.
4. OLD BUSINESS:
a. Discussion and possible action regarding Wagenseller Neighborhood Association
Traffic Concerns
Member Kageyama presented the item. Recommended Action: 1) Send a letter
requesting Clara Avenue residents who park vehicles along the street to park on the
pavement shoulder, 2) Request additional enforcement of vehicles parked along the
walkway, 3) Seek funding for construction of storm drains, curb, gutter and sidewalk.
Public speaking to the item: Ken Anderson, Elizabeth Love and Connie Diamond
expressed concern on pedestrian safety in their neighborhood.
M/S Townsend/Baxter, it was carried by an all AYE voice vote of the members present
to 1) Send a letter requesting Clara Avenue residents who park vehicles along the street
to park on the paved shoulder, 2) Confirm that red curbs are installed adjacent to all
intersections as appropriate between State Street and Orchard on both Clara and Ford
Streets, 3) To direct staff to study potential crosswalks, sight distance from crosswalks,
appropriate signage including, but not limited to, stop signs and additional speed limit

signs; complete the investigation on the right-of-way along the properties where no curb or
gutter exist; and provide a status report at the March committee meeting.
5. NEW BUSINESS:
a. Discussion and possible action regarding request for handicapped parking space
at Mendocino County Veteran's Memorial Building
Member Kageyama presented the item. Recommended Action: 1) Request that the
Director of Public Works designate the handicapped parking space in accordance with
Section 7251 of the Gity Code of Ukiah, California, 2) Deny the request for the
handicapped parking space, 3) Take no action.
Public speaking to the item: Donald Spurlock and Robert Parker requested handicapped
parking for the Veteran's Building.
M/S Townsend/Baxter, it was carried by an all AYE voice vote of the members present
to designate two handicapped parking spaces on Oak Street on the west side of the
Veteran's Building.
6. COMMITTEE MEMBER REPORTS:
a. Update on Crosswalks -flexible crosswalk signs
None.
7. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS:
Member Taylor inquired to the status of the Opticom system.
8. ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:02 p.m.
