RESOLUTION NO. 93-59
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
APPROVING A REVISED 30INT POWERS AGREEMENT
CONTINUING THE MENDOCIN0 TRANSIT AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah recognizes the value of public transit
services within this City as well as unincorporated population centers in the
County of Mendocino, in terms of enhanced mobility of its citizens, support
for the local economy, and reduction of air pollution and congestion; and
WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah agrees that a 3oint Powers Agreement among the
Cities and the County is a prudent and workable means of providing for public
transit services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah recognizes that the existing Joint Powers
Agency -- Mendocino Transit Authority -- has faithfully operated or contracted

1211 for necessary public transit services for more than seventeen years.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Ukiah
hereby:
1. Agrees to amend the existing Joint Powers Agreement to form a
permanent agreement continuing the Mendocino Transit Authority in
substantially the form presented to the City Council on
March 3, 1993, subject to County Counsel approval; and
2. Authorizes the Mayor, on behalf of the City Council, to execute the
Joint Powers Agreement referenced above.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17 day of March, 1993 by the following roll call
vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mast in, Malone, Wattenburger, Shoemaker and
NOES: None Mayor Schneiter
ABSENT: None
