Project Title: Final Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Ukiah New Municipal Well Project(Proposed Project) SCH # 202604 11..2 .... . ___Jared Walker _ _ (707)463-6231 State Clearinghouse Number Contact Person Area Code/Telephone/Extension Project Description and Location: The Proposed Project is located within the City of Ukiah limits on a vacant parcel that is owned by the City, located approximately 410 Talmage Road(APN#003-15040). The purpose of the Proposed Project is to construct a new well with a capacity of approximately 600 to 1,000 gpm to help the City maintain and continue to provide its existing customers with safe, reliable,and redundant water supply. The Proposed Project would be constructed entirely on City owned property and would be of similar look, color, and size to the other City's four (4) existing wells. The Proposed Project's building would be located on a paved pad that would be approximately 150-feet by 150-feet and fenced with a locking gate. The Proposed Project would consist of construction and operation of a new municipal water well within an enclosed building approximately 20-feet by 40-feet by 10-feet high, which would occur in four phases. The first phase would be the construction of a test well to determine the potential capacity of the well and to test for water quality of the aquifer. if the capacity of the well and the water quality meet California's drinking water standards, then the second phase would be for drilling and developing the well. This phase would drill the well hole and install blank and louvered casing to the necessary depths for the well. The third phase would be the installation of the pump and motor equipment. This would include the construction/installation of a drive motor, sand separator, as well as the construction of the building, fencing, site lighting, electrical equipment and other site improvements. The fourth and last phase would be the construction of a 12-inch transmission line that would run to the west for approximately 25-feet and tie into the City's existing 6--inch water transmission line in Waugh Lane. The pipeline would be trenched and buried approximately 3-feet deep below the existing ground surface. The new well will help provide water supply and pressure requirements for the area. Any damages to existing access roadways and fencing during construction will be returned to pre-construction conditions or better. This notice is to advise that the City of Ukiah has approved the Proposed Ukiah New Municipal Well Project on June 17, 2026, and has made the following determination regarding the Proposed Project described above: ME PROW 612Z1z6 TO 1.6 • The conclusion of the Draft and Final Initial StudyWitigated Negative Declaration and the Ukiah City Council is that the proposed Ukiah New Municipal Well Project will not result in significant impacts with the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures identified in the Proposed Project's Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program. This is to certify that the Public Draft and Final Initial StudyJMitigated Negative Declaration and other supporting documents, along with consideration of comments received and the record of project approval, are available for review upon request at the City of Ukiah's Public Works Department offices located at 300 Seminary Avenue, Ukiah,CA 95482.
