RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH REQUESTING A GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION FOR PREPARATION OF AN EMERGENCY ENERGY SHORTAGE CONTINGENCY PLAN ELEMENT FOR THE MENDOCINO COUNTY EMERGENCY OPERATIONAL AREA IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CITIES OF FORT BRAGG, POINT ARENA, UKIAH, AND WILLITS WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah recognizes it is in the interest of National, State, and Local Governments to promote the preparation for Emergency Energy Shortages, in order to continue providing essential services t~ the public; and WHEREAS, funds have been appropriated by the California State Legislature (Chapter 1661, Statues of 1990) and are available through the California Energy Co~ission for grants to Local Governments for Energy Emergency Response Planning Activities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Ukiah authorizes the submittal of an application to the California Energy Commission for a grant to develop and prepare an Energy Shortage Contingency Plan for the Mendocino County Emergency Operational Area in conjunction with the cities of Fort Bragg, Point Arena, Ukiah, and Willits. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council agrees to the terms and conditions set forth in the grant agreement and hereby authorizes Mendocino County Emergency Services Coordinator Gregory H. Smith to sign the grant agreement and accept the grant for the purpose stated above.
