HomeMy WebLinkAbout93-304 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 9 3 - 3 0 RESOLUTION 0%" THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH AUTHORIZING PUt, CHASE OF PROPERTY AT NOR','-K~ST CO~ER OF TALMAG~ ROAD AND ~AUGH LANE FOR STREET WIDENING WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah wishes to maintain conformity to the existing General Plan and WHEREAS, maintaining and widening of Waugh Lane as a collector street is consistenl with the General Plan since it provides a vital circulation link between Talmage Road an¢ Gobbi Street; and WHEREAS, Waugh Lane at Talmage Road exists as the Westerly half of its planne¢ ultimate width; and WHEREAS, the street right-of-way necessary to widen Waugh Lane would tak( approximately half of that property located at the northwest corner of Talmage Road an( Waugh Lane, including a portion of the existing single family dwelling; and i WHEREAS, private redevelopment of the property has not been feasible due to the los~ of property area necessary for Waugh Lane street widening. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Ukiah authorizes the purchase of property located at the northeast corner of Talmage Road and Waugh Lane, commonly known as 410 Talmage Road as described in the attached Exhibit A for street widening. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21 st October day of , 1992, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Malone, McMichael, Wattenburger, Shoemaker NOES: None and Mayor Schneiter ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None : ~ : , ATTES WAUGH Fred Schneiter Mayor EXHIBIT A That certain real property situated in the County of Mendocino, State of California, described as follows: A parcel of land lying in Lot 31 of Healy's Survey and Map of Yokayo Rancho, described as follows: BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of that certain parcel of land conveyed by Stella Waugh to Lawrence A. Waugh, by deed dated April 1, 1925, recorded in Book 3, Official Records, Page 155, Mendocino County Records, from which point of beginning a 1 inch iron pipe marking the intersection of the North line of the Talmage Road with the West line of Perry Street, as shown on proposed New Street Map in Cunningham and Thomas Subdivision, filed in Map Case 1, Drawer 7, Page 102, Mendocino County Records, bears North 87° 43' 19" West 946.17 feet distant; thence from said point of beginning and along the North line of the State Highway leading to Talmage, North 87° 34' East 53.0 feet; thence leaving said North line of said State Highway North 2° 27' West 160.0 feet; thence North 87° 34' East 118.0 feet; thence North 2° 26' West 50.0 feet; thence South 87° 34' West 198.18 feet; thence South 9° 48 1/2' East 211.76 feet to the point of beginning. EXCEPTING therefrom all that portion thereof conveyed by Arthur E. Legier, et ux, to Ralph W. Eldredge, et ux, by deed dated March 7, 1947, recorded in Book 210, Official Records, Page 275, Mendocino County Records. ALSO EXCEPTING that portion thereof conveyed by Robert E.
