RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
APPOINTING BOARD MEMBERS TO THE CULTURAL ARTS ADVISORY BOARD
WHEREAS, the Ordinance No. 911 created the Cultural Arts Advisory
Board; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the C.A.A.B. to allow for multicultural
diversity in their group; and
WHEREAS, the membership is 13 members; comprised of 7 organizational
and 6 public members; and
WHEREAS, to further achieve greater multicultural diversity, any
openings for an organizational slot shall be filled by recruitment to ail
area cultural groups, with the Museum Endowment Fund and Sun House Guild
remaining as permanent organizational slots; and
WHEREAS, due to ongoing project assignments and to allow for a
smoother transition as C.A.A.B. member's terms expire, a staggered
rotation of terms is appropriate; and
WHEREAS, organizational members may serve a single three-year term
with one year off before reapplying with the exception of the Museum
Endowment and Guild slots. Public members may serve two consecutive
three-year terms.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council that the
Cultural Arts Advisory Board shall be composed of the following:
Barbara Wanderer is hereby appointed as a public member to a term of
three years which will expire October 3, 1993.
Jan McGourty is hereby appointed as a public member to a term of
three years which will expire October 3, 1993.
Oini LaGioia is hereby appointed as a public member to a term of
three years which will expire October 3, 1993.

Evelyn Broaddus is hereby appointed as the Mendocino Ballet
representative to a term of three years which will expire
October 3, 1994.
Vicki Sparkman is hereby appointed as the Ukiah Civic Light Opera
representative to complete the term of three years which will expire
October 3, 1994.
Diane Sloan is hereby appointed as a public member to a term of
three years which will expire October 3, 1994.
Kathy Rough is hereby appointed as the Sun House Guild
representative to a term of three years which will expire
October 3, 1995.
Star Carroll-Smith is hereby appointed as a public member to a
term of three years which will expire October 3, 1995.
Nancy Biggins is hereby appointed as a public member to a
term of three years which will expire October 3, 1995.

is hereby appointed as the Mendo~Cox Hist. Soc.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council that the Cultural Arts
Advisory Board membership is 13; comprised of 7 organizational members
including a Museum Endowment member and a Sun House Guild member, and 6
public members; with staggered rotation of terms as noted above.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of September, 1992 by the following
roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Malone, McMichael, Shoemaker, and Mayor
Schneiter
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Wattenburger
