This estimate was based on the plan set provided by West Yost(dated July 2023 with job number 592-50-22-14)and project specifications. We have reviewed the construction plan set and specifications provided by West Yost, and our understanding is that the anticipated scope of work necessary to complete this project includes installation of new concrete slabs(subgrade, rebar, and concrete included), anchor bolts, and minor sidewalk work. Costs for sampling and testing structural concrete, in-place density testing of aggregate base for new walkways and sitework improvements, and material thickness testing of the currently installed structural steel members is included. During the installation of these new construction materials,we have anticipated the following items that will require special inspection, testing, and documentation: structural concrete for new slabs, and equipment pads, welding and post-installed anchors for equipment and pipe support fastening. Because the nature of construction scheduling is subject to change based on field conditions,we propose that SHN provides these services on an on-call basis, under the direction of your project manager. This means that, if we provided an estimated number of hours for an inspection task, and that task is completed in fewer hours than what was estimated,we will only charge for the time associated with the work you have requested. We have based the following cost and schedule on our understanding that the materials testing work will be subject to California Department of Industrial Relations Prevailing Wage Rates. The following rates will be associated with this project. • Project Manager: $165/hour • Laboratory Engineering Manager: $125/hour • Prevailing Wage Field Technician: $195/hour-$205/hour • Non-Prevailing Wage Technician: $105-$135/hour IV CIVIL ENGINEERING•ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES•GEOSCIENCES•PLANNING•SURVEYING 4c;T Jason Benson Cost Estimate and Fee Schedule for Materials Testing and Special Inspection Services,City of Ukiah Wastewater Treatment Plant,300 Plant Road, Ukiah January 22, 2024 Page 2 • Mileage(52 miles round trip to the project site): $0.655/mile • Mobilization (1 hour door-to-door from Willits to Ukiah):$105/hour-$135/hour • Laboratory fees per the attached 2024 Laboratory Billing Schedule Task Item 001—Project Management Project management includes scheduling inspections, reviewing and distributing reports, preparing invoices, and tracking costs. In addition,SHN's Engineering Manager will provide oversight and review of project reports. We anticipate that the time required for project management will vary depending on the current work activities that are occurring during each phase of the project. In addition, a final summary report will be required at the completion of the project. For the purpose of this cost estimate,we have assumed that the project will generally require up to 4 hours/week for project management throughout the length of construction. The project schedule provided projects up to 16 weeks to complete. We have estimated up to 64 hours for project management. Project Manager $165/hour x 1 hours/week $2,640 Laboratory Manager $125/hour x 3 hours/week $6,000 Project Management $8,640 Task Item 200—Sitework Compaction Testing and Laboratory Testing Compaction testing of subgrade and aggregate base for sitework improvements will be required. Compaction testing will include density testing of in-place materials and associated laboratory testing. We have estimated up to 8 site visits for compaction testing. Each site visit will require up to 2 hours onsite, mobilization, and equipment. In addition,we anticipate up to three laboratory prepared compaction curves. Special Inspector-Compaction Testing $205/hour x 2 hours/trip $410 Mobilization $135/hour x 1 hour/trip $135 Vehicle Mileage(door to door from Willits) $0.90/mile x 50 miles/trip $45 Nuclear Density Gauge $35/hour x 3 hours/tri p $105 Compaction Testing Cost Per Trip $695 Laboratory Compaction Curve $325/sample x 3 samples $975 Compaction Testing Cost for 8 Site Visits and Laboratory Testing $6,535 Task Item 300—Sitework and Equipment Pad Concrete Sampling and Testing Concrete for sitework improvements, and mechanical equipment pads will require sampling and testing. Samples will be collected during placement for structural features. Concrete samples will be stored onsite for the initial curing time, then delivered to the laboratory the following day for final curing and testing. If requested, SHN can also review and provide comments for concrete mix design submittals. We have estimated up to 10 concrete sampling events for the project. Each sampling event will take up to 4 hours onsite and require one set of samples for compression testing.
