Additional Service Request No. 3 - Gobbi Street Median Design
Dear Andrew,
BKF is pleased to submit this additional service request for engineering services to provide the City with support
related to the Urban Core project and the addition of medians on Gobbi Street. We understand that as part of the
discussions with the ad-hoc community group, planted medians have been requested to be incorporated into the
design. The following scope is presented to address your request for additional services. It is BKF’s understanding
that the improvements on Gobbi Street will now consist of the addition of three (3) median planters between South
Orchard Avenue and Leslie Street. It is anticipated that updated civil plans, new landscape plans, and updated
specifications and cost opinions will be required.
Scope of Services
TASK 15: EXPANDED CIVIL DESIGN FOR BID ADDENDUM NO. 1
A.Bid Package Updates for New Medians:Under this task, BKF will update the prepared plans to include
center medians, where applicable. BKF has engaged the services of W-Trans to provide traffic engineering

public safety are not negatively impacted. BKF will prepare exhibits showing the turning radii for a vehicle
making left turns into and out of driveways along Gobbi as well as to illustrate queuing length at the Gobbi
and South Orchard intersection to illustrate potential median locations and define median lengths.
Following the establishment of the new median locations, BKF will update the following sheets in our
drawing package, for release as Bid Addendum No. 1:
-Demolition Plan
-Grading and Utility
-Paving Plan
-Striping and Signage Plan
Under this task we will also update the project Specifications to include the new work elements, and will
issue a revised Bid Schedule and a revised Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Construction Costs, for inclusion
in the Bid Addendum No. 1 package.
We have included up to four (4) hours of staff time for meetings and coordination calls with the City to
discuss items such as median size and location, landscape coordination, and public art installation
coordination, if pursued by the City.
