HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-60 buzzardRESOLUTION NO. 2006-60 RESOLUTION OF THE UKIAH CITY COUNCIL HONORING SGT. JASON J. BUZZARD AND EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY WHEREAS, Sgt. Jason J. Buzzard served his country with dedication, commitment and devotion to duty; and, WHEREAS, he was a native of Willits who graduated from Ukiah High School in 1993; and, WHEREAS, he married his high school sweetheart Michele and they are the proud parents of Michala and Tristan; and, WHEREAS, he enlisted in the Army in 1998 and subsequently re-enlisted during time of war; and, WHEREAS, he was an honored member of the Second Brigade Combat Team of the Fourth Infantry Division stationed at Fort Hood, Texas; and, WHEREAS, he and his unit were deployed to Iraq in November of 2005; and, WHEREAS, he provided leadership, support and guidance to the members of his unit and otherwise honorably discharged the duties assigned to him; and, WHEREAS, he was called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of his duties on June 21, 2006; and, WHEREAS, he is survived by numerous family members and friends in Mendocino County, including in the Ukiah area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the Ukiah City Council hereby sincerely and publicly offer thanks to Sgt. Jason J. buzzard for his service to and ultimate sacrifice on behalf of his country; and, 2. That the Ukiah City Council hereby offers its heartfelt condolences to Michele, Michala and Tristan Buzzard and to all of Sgt. Buzzard's family members and friends.
