HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-28RESOLUTION NO. 2006 - 28 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH REQUESTING GOVERNOR SCHWARZENEGGER PURSUE A PRESIDENTIAL DECLARATION PROCLAIMING A STATE OF EMERGENCY IN MENDOClNO COUNTY WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property has arisen within the City of Ukiah, caused by excessive rain and flooding commencing on the 30th day of December, 2005; WHEREAS, the City Council has found the aforesaid conditions of extreme peril did warrant and necessitate the proclamation of existence of a local emergency; and WHEREAS, said local emergency shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed by the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that local resources were unable to cope with the effects of said emergency; and WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah wishes to support the Mendocino County Board of Supervisor's efforts in obtaining a Presidential Declaration of Emergency for this County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council for the City of Ukiah hereby requests Governor Schwarzenegger pursue a Presidential Declaration proclaiming a state of emergency in Mendocino County.
