CITY OF UKIAH
AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
BKF ENGINEERS and THE CITY OF UKIAH
This Amendment No. 1, entered on September 13, 2022 revises the Agreement for
Engineering services dated February 18, 2022 between the City of Ukiah and BKF
Engineers, for traffic signal pole relocation on the Perkins Widening project.
This Amendment No. 1 adds the following:
1. Adds Traffic Operations Analysis, Signal Design, and Curb Ramp Design to the
Scope of Work, as per Exhibit 1.
2. Adds an additional $14,581 to the contract, for revised total amount not-to-exceed
of$322,612.
Except as expressly amended by this Amendment, all other terms remain unchanged and
in full force and effect.

Traffic Operations Analysis, Signal Design, and Curb Ramp Design

BKF is pleased to submit this additional service request for engineering services to prepare traffic operations analysis
and curb ramp design as part of our work for the East Perkins Avenue project in the City of Ukiah. Fallowing a
collision with the existing signal pole at the northeast corner of the East Perkins Avenue/Orchard Avenue
intersection, the City has requested that the design team review the replacement and repositioning of this pole to
discourage future vehicle impact at this location. The additional design work illustrated herein will become part of
the East Perkins Widening Project design package, including plans, specifications as notes on plans, and estimate.
The following scope is presented to address your request for additional services.
Scope of Services
TASK 9:TRAFFIC OPERATIONS ANALYSIS
Traffic Operations analysis will be prepared by W-Trans, BKF's sub consultant.The following tasks will be performed
by W-Trans to understand the impacts that the lane reassignment will have on the Level or Services at the
intersection and to identify is alternative signal timing may be warranted:
• Data Collection—Week day AM and PM peak period turning movement counts will be conducted,including
vehicle, pedestrian, and bicyclist movements, initial queues, and right-turn-on-red movements at the
signalized intersection
• Analyze existing plus Project Condition Level of Service with Synchro software. Development of optimum
signal phasing, queue storage lengths, and lane geometry.
• Northeast Corner Signal Design Update—The traffic signal modification plans will be updated to include
the upgrade of the signal mast arm pole on the northeast corner of the intersection of East Perkins Street/
North Orchard Avenue.
TASK 10:SIGNAL DESIGN
W-Trans will update the traffic signal modification plan to include the upgrade and relocation of the signal mast
arm pole on the northeast corner of the East Perkins Avenue/Orchard Avenue intersection This additional work will
be reflected in the 60% PG&E submittal and all following milestones.

TASK 11:CURB RAMP DESIGN
BKF will prepare curb ramp grading details for the northeast ramp at the East Perkins Avenue/Orchard Avenue
intersection. BKF will prepare this drawing with a designed scale of 1"=10' for clarity. Drawings will be prepared
based on the City of Ukiah standards, details and specifications and will be completed in coordination with the
replacement signal pole at this corner. As part of this task we have included time for our efforts associated with
coordinating the ramp layout with W-Trans and the City, and addressing City review comments at the design
milestones.
Scope Qualifications and Assumptions
BKF's services are limited to those expressly set forth in the scope. BKF shall have no other obligations or
responsibilities for the project, except as provided in this proposal letter,or as agreed to in writing. BKF will provide
our services consistent with the professional skill and care ordinarily provided by consultants practicing in the same
locality under similar circumstances. Our services shall be limited to those expressly summarized in this proposal
and we shall have no other obligations or responsibilities, unless otherwise agreed upon.
Schedule
BKF is able to commence working on this project immediately upon your authorization to proceed_
Fees for Professional Services
BKF proposes to provide the services on a Time& Materials basis as noted in the table below.

This additional service request is an amendment to our Professional Services Agreement between BKF Engineers
and the City of Ukiah, dated February 18, 2022. All terms of said agreement will remain the same except for the
scope and fee items explicitly stated herein.
