RESOLUTION OFTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE EXISTENCE OF
A LOCAL EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, Section 8630, Article 14 of the California Emergency Services Act
requires that the City Council for the City of Ukiah review, at least every 21 days
until such local emergency is terminated, the need for continuing the local
emergency; and
WHEREAS, a period of local emergency presently exists in the City of Ukiah in
accordance with the Proclamation issued by the Director of Emergency Services
of the City of Ukiah and ratified by the City Council on the 5th day of January
2006, as a result of conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and
property caused by excessive rain, flooding and storm conditions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ukiah upon review determined the
need to extend the existence of a local emergency on January 18, 2006; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has again reviewed the need to continue the
existence of a local emergency; and
WHEREAS, the situation resulting from said conditions of extreme peril is still
deemed beyond the control of normal protective services, personnel, equipment
and facilities of the City of Ukiah;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of
Ukiah, State of California does hereby proclaim the extension of the period of
local emergency for twenty-one additional days unless sooner terminated.

vote:
AYES:Councilmembers Crane, McCowen, Rodin, Baldwin, and Mayor Ashiku
