HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Reso 2021-30 - Approving Physical Security Plan per CPUC RESOLUTION NO. 2021-30 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH APPROVING THE PHYSICAL SECURITY PLAN AS COMPLIANT WITH CALIFORNIA PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION DECISION D.19-01-018 WHEREAS, The City of Ukiah owns and operates an electric utility for the benefit of the Ukiah community; and WHEREAS, in the operation of the electric utility the City is obligated to follow certain laws and regulations of the State of California; and WHEREAS, persurant to Public Utilities CodeSection 364 enacted by Senate Bill 699, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC)was tasked to develop a process and set of criteria for identifying critical electric infrastructure which it adopted in Decision D.19-01-018; and WHEREAS, in compliance with D.19-01-018, the Ukiah Police Department (UPD) served as a qualified third-party to review the City of Ukiah's electric facilities; and WHEREAS, in conducting the review, UPD found one distribution asset(Orchard Substation) that is a "Covered Distribution Facility" under the seven factors identified as per D.19-01-018 and concluded that no changes are needed to the Plan in response to the evaluation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ukiah that it: 1. Finds and approves the Physical Security Plan as compliant with the obligations of CPUC D.19-01-018. 2. Directs staff to file the Physical Security Plan as required by D.19-01-018. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of July 2021, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Crane, Rodin, Duenas, Brown, and Mayor Orozco NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None Juan V.
