HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-08 RESOLUTION NO. 2005-08 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH REMOVING ON-STREET PARKING AND ESTABLISHING BUS LOADING ZONES AT 340 AND 345 NORTH MAIN STREET WHEREAS, the City Council may by resolution designate portions of streets upon which the standing, parking, or stopping of vehicles is prohibited or restricted pursuant to Article 11, Chapter 1, Division 8 of the Ukiah City Code; and WHEREAS, the provisions of Sections 21458 and 22500 of the California Vehicle Code permit the stopping of buses in a red zone marked or posted as a bus loading zone; and WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineering Committee (Traffic. Engineer) considered the request on July 20, 2004 from the Mendocino Transit Authority to establish the bus loading zones within the City of Ukiah; and WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineer recommends this request regarding the bus loading zones. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Ukiah does establish bus loading zones at 340 and 345 North Main Street at locations as determined by the City Engineer.
