RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF CONTRACT 20-SNR-02332 BETWEEN THE CITY OF UKIAH AND THE
WESTERN AREA POWER ADMINISTRATION
WHEREAS, The City of Ukiah and the Western Area Power Administration are parties to the Base
Resource Contract. Under the Contract, WAPA provides Ukiah a percentage of the Base
Resource; and
WHEREAS, This Contract is scheduled to terminate at midnight on December 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS, Western Area Power Administration published its 2025 Power Marketing Plan
(Marketing Plan) in the Federal Register (82 FR 38675) The Marketing Plan provides existing
customers with 98 percent of their current Base Resource allocation beginning January 1, 2025;
and
WHEREAS, Western has offered to extend 98percent of existing entitlement for 30 years January
1, 2025 - December 31, 2054; and
WHEREAS, Ukiah can reduce base resource or terminate contract any time before July 1, 2024;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah desires to enter into a contract with the Western Power
Administration relative to Base Resource electric service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ukiah, that the Mayor
is authorized, on behalf of the City of Ukiah, to execute this Contract for Base Resource with the
Western Area Power Administration entitled Contract 20-SNR-02332.
