AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH
~MENDING ARTICLE lA, SECTION 1011 AND 1012, AND ADDING
SECTION 1016 OF CHAPTER 4, DIVISION 1, OF THE UKIAH
CITY CODE, REGARDING THE CULTURAL ARTS ADVISORY BOARD.

The City Council of the City of Ukiah does hereby ordain as follows:
Chapter 4, Article lA, is hereby amended as follows:
SECTION ONE.
Section 1011 - Membership; Appointment:
Said Advisory Board shall consist of 13 members, appointed by the
Mayor with the approval of the City Council. There shall be six public
members and seven members representing cultural organizations, as
identified in a resolution adopted by the City Council from time to time.
A recommendation for appointment of organization representatives shall be
provided by a majority vote of the Board of Directors of the represented
organization acting at a duly called meeting according to the bylaws of
the organization. An organizational member may be represented at no more
than 4 meetings in any 12-month period by an alternate appointed by
majority vote of the represented organization.
Section 1012 - Term of office; Vacancies:
Ail appointments to the Advisory Board shall be for a term of three
years. Appointments to fill vacancies during a term of office shall be
filled as provided in Section 1011. Notwithstanding Section 1200, a
represented organization may recommend a member to serve a single
three-year term and will not be eligible to recommend another appointment
for a period of one year after that term expires. Term limits shall not
apply to Sun House Guild and Museum Endowment Fund. Public members may
serve two consecutive three-year terms, and shall be eligible for
reappointment after a period of one year froTM the expiration of their last
term.
Section 1016 - Attendance
Notwithstanding Section 1200, if an organizational member of C.A.A.B.
absents himself or herself from four regular meetings in any 12-month
period without the prior approval~ of the Board, and does not send an
informed alternate in his or her absence, his office becomes vacant and
shall be filled as any other vacancy.
SECTION TWO.
This Ordinance shall be published as required by law and shall become
effective 30 days after its adoption.
