HomeMy WebLinkAbout921452 ORDINANCE NO. 921 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH AMENDING DIVISION 9, CHAPTER 2, OF THE UKIAH CITY ZONING CODE - ALLOWED AND PERMITTED USES IN THE C-N, NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL, AND C-I, LIGHT COMMERCIAL ZONING DISTRICTS The City Council of the City of Ukiah does hereby ordain as follows: ' SECTION ONE - Ukiah City Code Sections 9061 and 9062, Uses allowed and permitted in the C-N Zone, are amended to read as follows: Section 9061 - Uses Allowed: The following uses are allowed in Neighborhood Commercial (C-N) Districts: a) Retail stores, personal service establishments, and offices, all carried on within a building, including: bakery (where at least one-half of the floor space is used for retail purposes), bank, barber shop, beauty shop, book store, candy store, cleaning (no on-site processing), drug store, florist, food store, launderette, liquor store, newsstand, photographer, restaurant, shoe repair shop, tailor shop, variety store, and all other uses which in the opinion of the Planning Commission are similar. b) Small homeless facilities, subject to Section 9171. c) Accessory uses to any of the uses allowed in a C-N District. Section 9062 - Uses Permitted Subject to first securing a Use Permit: The following uses may be permitted in Neighborhood Commercial (C-N) Districts, subject to first securing a use permit as provided in this chapter in each case: a) Pet shops. b) Service stations, drive-in restaurants, and plant nurseries. c) Outdoor sales establishments, pursuant to Section 9184. d) Large homeless facilities, pursuant to Section 9171. e) Bars, taverns, cocktail lounges, amusement arcades, and bowlin~ alleys. SECTION TWO - Sections 9081 and 9082, Uses allowed and permitted in the C-1 Zone, are amended to read as follows: Section 9081 - Uses allowed: The following uses are allowed uses in Light Commercial (C-I) Districts: a) Any use allowed or permitted ~n anv R-l, R-2, or R-3 District, except for single-family dwellings, duplexes, mobile home parks, social halls, or lodges. b) Retail stores and personal service establishments carried on within a building, including: apparel, appliance stores, bakeries, banks, barber shops, beauty parlors, book stores, candy stores, caterer, cleaning (agency only), clinic, department store, dress shop, drug store, florist, food shop, furniture store, hardware store, jeweler, launderette, liquor store, millinery, new car sales, newsstand, offices, photographer, plant nurseries, print shop, radio and television shop, radio store, restaurant, shoe shop, sign shop, studio, tailor shop, upholsterer, variety store, yardage store, computer sales and service, and all other uses which in the opinion of the Planning Commission are of a similar nature. c) Small homeless facilities, pursuant to Section 9171. d) Accessory uses to any of the uses allowed in the C-1 District. Section 9082 - Uses permitted subject to first securing a use permit: a) Animal hospitals, auto repair shops, car wash, cleaning and dyeing establishments, creameries, drive-in establishments, launderies, outdoor markets, outdoor sales establishments, pet shops, public garages, theatres, used car sales lots, auto body and painting shop, mini-storage, service stations, parking lots, and all other uses which in the opinion of the Planning Commission are of a similar nature. b) Single-family dwellings, duplexes, mobile home parks. c) Social halls, lodges. d) Outdoor sales establishments, pursuant to Section 9184. e) Large homeless facilities, pursuant to Section 9171. f) Machine shop. g) Bars, taverns, cocktail lounges, nightclubs, billiard parlors, amusement arcades, bowling alleys, dance halls, live entertainment, tattoo parlors, and all other uses which in the opinion of the Planning Commission are of a similar nature. SECTION THREE This ordinance shall be published as required by .law in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Ukiah. SECTION FOUR This ordinance shall beco~ne effective 30 days after its adoption.
