ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
UKIAH, ADDING A NEW ARTICLE 2, TO CHAPTER 7 OF
DIVISION 1, ESTABLISHING CLAIM FILING PROCE-
DURE FOR CLAIMS EXEMPT FROM THE CLAIM FILING
REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 905 OF THE GOVERNMENT
CODE.
The City Council of the City of Ukiah ordains as follows:
SECTION 1.

(a) Chapter 7 of Division 1 of the Ukiah City Code entitled:
Procedure For Approval And Payment Of Invoices And Demands, is
hereby divided into new Articles 1 and 2. Article 1, entitled:
Invoices and Requests for Payment, shall include existing section
1600-1606.
(b) A new Article 2, entitled: Claims for Money or Damages,
containing section 1607 is hereby added to Chapter 7, Division I
of the Ukiah City Code to read as follows:
Section 1607 - Procedure For Filing Claims For Money Or
Damages:
Ail claims against the City of Ukiah for money or
damages which are excepted by section 905 of the Government
Code from Chapter 1 (commencing with section 900) and Chap-
ter 2 (commencing with section 910) of Part 3 of Division
3.6 of said Code, and which are not governed by any other
statutes or regulations expressly relating thereto, shall be
presented to the City Council and acted upon as a prerequi-
site to suit thereon as further provided in this section.
All such claims shall be presented as required by Chapter 2
of Part 3 of Division 3.6 of the California Government Code
and within the time periods specified therein. Claims sub-
ject to the claim filing requirements of this section shall
include, but not be limited to, claims by public employees
for fees, salaries, wages, mileage or other expenses and al-
lowances and claims by the State or by a state department or
agency or by another local public entity. The provisions of
this section shall apply to any claim whether it relates to
events, transactions or occurrences that took place prior to
the effective date of this section or after the effective
date of this section.

SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be published as required by law and
shall become effective 30 days after its adoption by the City
Council.
