HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin 06-27-01(1)MINUTES OF THE UKIAH CITY COUNCIL Special Joint Meeting of the Ukiah City Council And Ukiah Valley Sanitation District Thursday, June 27, 2001 The Ukiah City Council met at a Special Joint Meeting with the Ukiah Valley Sanitation District (UVSD) on June 27, 2001, the notice for which had been legally noticed and posted, at 3:38 p.m. in the Civic Center Council Chambers, 300 Seminary Avenue, Ukiah, California. The purpose of the meeting was to review and discuss the City of Ukiah Fiscal year 2000-2001 Budget. Roll was taken and the following Councilmembers were present: Larson, Smith, Libby, Baldwin, and Mayor Ashiku. Staff present: Public Utilities Director Barnes, Water/Sewer Operations Superintendent Borecky, Finance Director Elton, Wastewater Treatment Manager Gall, Risk Manager/Budget Officer Harris, City Manager Horsley, and City Clerk Ulvila. Ukiah Valley Sanitation District (UVSD) Board Members present: Baldwin and Chairman Michael Delbar. UVSD Board Member absent: Shoemaker. UVSD Staff present: Recording Secretary Arnold. 2. AUDIENCE COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS No one came forward. 3. PUBLIC HEARING - CONSIDERATION AND ADOPTION OF FISCAL YEAR 2001- 2002 BUDGET Public Hearing Opened: 3:40 p.m. Public Utilities Director Barnes discussed the City's budget related to the Revolving Fund and the planned expansion of the wastewater treatment plant, including engineering plans. A brief discussion followed concerning the improvements to the wastewater treatment plant. UVSD Board Chairman Delbar explained that the UVSD Board has reviewed the budget and are in agreement. Public Hearing Closed: 3:42 p.m. Upon a motion by Baldwin/Delbar it was ordered that the budget be adopted by the Ukiah Valley Sanitation District and carried by the following roll call vote: AYES: Boardmember Baldwin, and Chairman Delbar. NOES: None. ABSENT: Boardmember Shoemaker. ABSTAIN: None. 4. ADJOURNMENT OF JOINT MEETING Mayor Ashiku adjourned the meeting at 3:44 p.m. to resume the Special City Council. Marie Ulvila, City Clerk
