C±erK AGREEMENT RETAINING GREATER UKIAH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR PROMOTIONAL AND ADVERTISING ACTIVITIES FOR THE CITY OF UKIAH THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into in duplicate by and between the City of Ukiah, a municipal corporation, hereinafter called "City" and the Greater Ukiah Chamber of Commerce, an association, hereinafter called 'Chamber". W I T N E S S E T H: WHEREAS, Chamber is located in the City of Ukiah and is an association formed for the purpose of making known the virtues and advantages of the City 10 of Ukiah for the general purpose of attracting visitors, settlers or businesses 11 to such area, and has experience and facilities for promotion and advertising 12 work: 18 14 1. 17 2. 18 19 20 3. 21 22 ~. 28 25 26 27 29 80 82 NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows: The Chamber agrees to carry on a continuing program of advertising and promotional activities designed to make known the virtues and advantages of the City of Ukiah. The Chamber agrees to exhibit or advertise the current commercial, industrial, climatic, educational, recreation, cultural, and other resources and advantages of the City of Ukiah. The Chamber agrees to perform such further and other services as City may from time to time require subject to the availability of adequate funding. City agrees to make the following payments, provide the following utilitie and perform the following services: a) City hereby agrees to pay to Chamber the sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) to be paid one-half during December, 1977, and one-half during April, 1978'. b) C~ty agrees to furnish, free of charge, electric energy to Chamber office at 495 'E' East Perkins Street, Ukiah, California. Such electric energy shall be furnished free of charge, solely for the usual purposes of operating an office, and in no event shall the kilowatt usage of such power exceed 19,000 kilowatts per year. 1 2 3 4 ! Chamber agrees in accepting from City the monies herein agreed to be paid, to use said monies only for those activities directly or primarily benefiting~areas inside City. Chamber further agrees that such monies shall be used only for and in accordance with the proposed uses heretofore 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 submitted by Chamber, to wit: 1. Promotional - Industrial/Commercial Development: Information and Assistance $1,750.00 Statistical Info/Packets (includes postage & supplies) 950.00 2. Promotional.- Tourism: Advertising City Golf Course, Recreational Areas, and Svcs Promotional Expenses Postage & Supplies Visitor Information and Assistance 1,500.00 1,000.00 1,500.00 7~000.00 3. Promotional - Community/Civic Programs: Outstanding Citizen Award Downtown Development Community Calendar General Services Retail "Santa" Promotion Name Badges Postage & Supplies Community Information and Assistance 200.00 5OO.OO 100.00 5OO.OO 150.00 150.00 200.00 ~,000.00 4, Promotional - Sister City Program: Establishing and maintaining the program (supplies, postage, staff time, etc.) 1~500.00 $ 2,700.00 11,000.00 4,800.00 __!~ 500.00 $ 20,000.00 22 Chamber may expend monies received from City on the projects enumerated 23 above in such amounts deemed necessary by Chamber, not to exceed the amounts set forth for each project, chamber also agrees to furnish to 25 City_ before termination of this contract, an itemized accounting showing 26 specifically for what purposes and in what amounts the allocation from 27 · City has been spent. 6.
