RESOLUTION NO. 78-18
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF UKIAH AMENDING THE PAY AND
CLASSIFICATION PLAN TO INCORPORATE THE
CLASSIFICATION RECREATION SUPERVISOR
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a budget for the fiscal
year 1977-78 which incorporates the position of Recreation
Supervisor, and
WHEREAS, no class specification exists for this position,
and
WHEREAS, the City pay plan needs to be amended to accomo-
date this position,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the class specification
Recreation Supervisor is hereby adopted and added to the City
classification plan in the form attached hereto, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City pay plan is amended to
place this position in Range 39.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of August, 1977 by the
following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmen Brannon, Feibusch, Councilwoman Snyder, Mayor Simpson
NOES: None

RECREATION SUPERVISOR
Definition
Under general direction, to plan and administer a program
of recreation activities with emphasis on teen and cultural programs;
to act for the Director of Recreation and Parks in his absence; and
to do'related work as required.
Examples of Duties
Plans, promotes and directs a program of recreational
activities with emphasis on programs for teens; serves as staff to
the Fine Arts Commission; coordinates activities in cooperation
with Senior Citizens Board and Teen Center Board of Directors;
acts for Recreation and Parks Director in his absence; prepares
publicity releases and speaks before community groups; prepares and
submits budget estimates; controls budget allocations; requisitions
supplies and equiPment.
Employment Standards
Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to
graduation from college with specialization in park and recreation
management and two years of professional experience in recreation
leadership.
Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of the concepts,
objectives, and requirements of parks and recreation programs;
knowledge of principles and procedures used in developing and
administering a coordinated community recreation program ability
to direct the work of recreation leaders and park maintenance
personnel; ability to work cooperatively with representatives of
other agencies and the public; ability to develop and direct
programs adapted to the particular needs of the community including
youth group activities; senior citizen programs; and cultural
activities; ability to speak and write effectively.
Recommended Salary Range 39 $1059 -$1287
