RESOLUTION NO. 77-83
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF UKIAH STATING ITS INTENTION TO
ABANDON CERTAIN PROPERTY CONSISTING OF
A PORTION OF HIGHLAND AVENUE
WHEREAS, Highland Avenue runs between West Standley Street and
Highland Court in the City of Ukiah, and
WHEREAS, the southern portion of said street between Clay Street
and Highland Court is steep, narrow and possibly dangerous, and
WHEREAS, any abandonment would retain necessary easements for
public utilities and access thereto, and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ukiah is empowered to
vacate said street portion pursuant to the authority contained in the
California Streets and Highways Code, Sections 8300 through 8324.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Ukiah does hereby
RESOLVE:
That it intends to vacate the aforementioned portion of Highland
Avenue with reservations more particularly described on a map on file
with the City Clerk, and establishes as the date and time for the re-
quired public hearing, May 18, 1977, at 8:00 p.m., or as soon there-
after as the matter may be heard in the Council Chambers. At said
public hearing it is the duty of the City Council to determine upon a
showing of evidence that said street portion is unnecessary for pre-
sent or prospective public purposes.

by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmen Brannon, Wood, Feibusch, Councilwoman Snyder,
Mayor Simpson
