RESOLUTION NO. 77-22
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF UKIAH AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT FOR PROMOTIONAL SERVICES
WITH THE GREATER UKIAH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
WHEREAS, the City has customarily contracted with the Greater
Ukiah Chamber of Commerce for promotional and advertising services
and,
WHEREAS, the Council believes that it is in the best interest
of the City to continue this program,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that that certain agreement
attached hereto and made a part hereof between the Greater Ukiah
Chamber of Commerce and the City of Ukiah is hereby approved and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Mayor is authorized to execute
same on behalf of the City.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of August, 1976 by the
following roll call vote:

AGREEMENT RETAINING GREATER
UKIAH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR PROMOTIONAL AND
ADVERTISING ACTIVITIES FOR THE CITY OF UKIAH
(1976-77)
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into in duplicate by and
between the City of Ukiah, a municipal corporation, hereinafter
called "City" and the Greater Ukiah Chamber of Commerce, an
association, hereinafter called "Chamber".
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, Chamber is located in the City of Ukiah and is an
association formed for the purpose of making known the virtues
and advantages of the City of Ukiah for the general purpose of
attracting visitors, settlers or businesses to such area, and has
experience and facilities for promotion and advertisinq work:
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows:
1. The Chamber agrees to carry on a continuing program of
advertising and promotional activities designed to make
known the virtues and advantages of the City of Ukiah.
2. The Chamber agrees to exhibit or advertise the current
commercial, industrial, climatic, educational, recreation,
cultural, and other resources and advantages of the City of
Ukiah.
3. The Chamber agrees to perform such further and other services
as City may from time to time require subject to the
availability of adequate funding.
4. City agrees to make the following payments, provide the
following utilities, and perform the following services:
a) City hereby agrees to pay to Chamber the sum of Fifteen
Thousand ($15,000.00) to be paid one-half during December
1976 and one-half during April, 1977.
b) City agrees to furnish, free of charge, e].ectric energy
to Chamber at its office on East Perkins Street, Ukiah.

1 of charge solely for the usual purposes of operating an
2 office, and in no event shall the kilowatt usage of such
3 power exceed 19,000 kilowatts.
4 ~5. Chamber agrees in accepting from City the monies herein agreed
to be paid, to use said monies only for those activities
directly or primarily benefiting areas inside City. Chamber
further agrees that such monies shall be used only for and
in accordance with the proposed uses heretofore submitted by
Chamber, to wit:
1. Promotional - Industrial Development $ 1,000.00
2. Promotional - Tourism; Advertising
City promotion (golf, sports, etc.) 3,750.00
3. Promotional ' Community & Civic
programs 1,400.00
4. Toward general promotional and
operating expenses and salaries 8,850.00
$15,000.00
Chamber may expend monies received from City on the projects
enumerated above in such amounts deemed necessary by Chamber,
not to exceed the amounts set forth for each project. Chamber
also agrees to furnish to City before termination of this con-
tract, an itemized accounting showing specifically for what

purposes and in what amounts the allocation from City has been

22 6. The term of this contract shall run until the 30th day of
23 June, 1977.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, this agreement has been duly executed by
