HomeMy WebLinkAbout75-401 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. 75-40 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH ESTABLISHING FEES AT THE CITY SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL SITE WHEREAS, the staff has recommended and the budget for fiscal 1974-75 provides for an increase in fees at the Disposal Site, and WHEREAS, the increase is made necessary by increasing and more stringent environmental controls at the site, and WHEREAS, the fees structure has been traditionally based on volume rather than weight, and WHEREAS, the weight of materials has an impact on the costs of operation, and WHEREAS, commercial vehicles utilizing compaction equipment can reduce volume of material without affecting weight on a ratio or at least 3:1 and up to 5:1, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the following fees are established for materials delivered to the Ukiah Solid Waste Disposal Site. A. Materials delivered in loose form, and in vehicles having no operable compaction device: 75~ / cu. yard B. Materials delivered in compacted form, and in vehicles having an operating compaction device: $2.00 /cu. yard C. Materials which in the opinion of the responsible city employee have been compacted and transferred to another vehicle for the purpose of avoiding the compacted material charge shall be charged at the rate of $2.00 per cubic yard. Fees charged under this provision are subject to appeal by the payee to the City Manager and City Council on the condition that the payee immediately register his protest with the Disposal Site Gateman. Fees thus paid shall be received under protest and shall be held pending a decision on the merit of the appeal. PASSED AND ADOPTED this ~ day of D~mh~r , 1974. ATTEST,: Mayor City Clerk
