HomeMy WebLinkAbout74-51RESOLUTION NO. _~_ 1 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH DECLARING THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY IN THE ACQUISITION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC USE Whereas, the City of Ukiah operates and maintains a municipal fire department; and Whereas, the City of Ukiah, under contract with the Ukiah Valley Fire Protection District, provides fire suppression and prevention services for said district; and Whereas, past as well as projected growth within the corporate limits of the City of Ukiah and within the boundaries of the Ukiah Valley Fire Protection District require additional facilities. Now, Therefore, the City Council of the City of Ukiah does hereby resolve: That it is in the public interest and that necessity requires that private property located at the northwest corner of Empire Drive and North State Street, presently occupied by an inoperative Gulf Oil Company service station, be acquired through eminent domain proceedings for the purpose of locating a fire station at such location.
