HomeMy WebLinkAbout73-274 6 7 8 9 10 11 13 14 1§ 16 17 18 19 20 24 26 28 3O 31 RESOLUTION NO. 73-27 RESOLUTION OF THE UKIAH CITY COUNCIL SUPPORTING SENNATE BILL 1261 WHEREAS, Senate Bill 1261 has been introduced into the State Legislature for the purpose of providing full State funding of Public Library Services Act system activities; and, WHEREAS, the continued existence of the North Bay Cooperative Library system is depended upon a program of-financial assistance to library systems from the State of California; and, WHEREAS, the County of Mendocino is a long standing member of the North Bay Cooperative Library system; and, WHEREAS, membership in said system has brought numerous benefits to the library and to the people of the County of Mendocino and the City of Ukiah in the extension of book, periodical, audio-visual, and communication re- sources and the improvement of library service to children in Mendocino County and the City of Ukiah, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ukiah City Council hereby endorses and urges the passage of SB 1261 by the Legislature and subsequent approval by the Governor of the State of California. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution shall be fOr- warded to the Honorable Governor Reagan, Senator Collier, California Library Association, and League of California Cities. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of December, 1972. ATTEST: City Clerk
