HomeMy WebLinkAbout72-31RESOLUTION NO. 72-31 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH OPPOSING THE POSITION OF THE CITY OF NORWALK, CALIFORNIA REGARDING THE MANNER IN WHICH SALES TAX REVENUES ARE DISTRIBUTED ORIGINAL. WHEREAS, the City of Norwalk has passed Resolution NOo 2500 wherein it proposes that the manner of distribution of sales tax be altered from the present site of sale formula; and WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah feels that the site of sale formula is proper since various services are required to be supplied by the City for the benefit of shoppers, both local and otherwise; and WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah feels that there is no injustice present in the current syste'm of sales tax distribution NOW, THEREFORE, the City Ccuncil of the City of Ukiah does hereby RESOLVE: That the current system of sales tax distribution is the most equitable and productive means of distribution and should be maintained and not altered as proposed by the City of Norwalk° RESOLVED FURTHER: That a copy of this resolution shall be sent to the Honorable George C. Deukmejian, Jack Fenton, Joe A. Gonsalves, Randolph Collier, Frank Belotti, and the League of California Cities° APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of March, 1972. ATTEST: ~i-ty Clerk
