"~/" ~J>, RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH SUPPORTING THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF MENDOCINO COUNTY'S APPLICATION FOR A LEASED HOUSING PROGRAM UNDER SECTION 23 OF THE UNITED STATES HOUSING ACT OF 1937 AND REQUESTING THAT THE PROGRAM BE APPLICABLE WITHIN THE CITY OF UKIAH'S JURISDICTIONAL BOUNDARIES 10 11 12 15 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 25 24 25 26 27 28 29 5O 51 52 WHEREAS, the United States Housing Act of 1937 provides that there shall be local determination of the need for low-rent housing to meet needs not being adequately met by private enterprise; ands WHEREAS: under the provisions of the United States Housing Act of 1937 the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development is authorized to provide financial assistance to public housing agencies for low-rent housing; and, WHEREAS: the Housing Authority of Mendocino County has prepared an application for a leased housing program under Section 23 of the United States Housing Act of 1937; and~ WHEREAS, said Section 23 provides that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any locality unless the governing body of the locality has by resolution approved the application of such provisions to such locality; ands WHEREAS~ there is a desire for low-rent housing units. NOW~ THEREFORE~ the City Council of the City of Ukiah does hereby RESOLVE: 1. That the City Council of the City of Ukiah supports and approves of the application of the Housing Authority of Mendocino County for a lease housing program under Section 23. 2. That the provisions of Section 23 be applicable within the jurisdictional boundaries of the City of Ukiah. PASSED AND ADOPTED this ATTEST: ./ City Clerk day of April, 1971. Mayor
