HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-18RESOLUTION NOo 70-18 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH SETTING DATE FOR EMPLOYEE REPRESENTATION ELECTION WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah Police Officers' Association and the City of Ukiah Employees' Association have petitioned the City of Ukiah Employee Relations Officer for recognition of Operating Engineers Union Local No. 3 as their representative to meet and confer with designated representatives of the City of Ukiah on all pending and future matters regarding wages, fringe benef~its, and working conditions for the employees of the City of Ukiah and WHEREAS a series of conferences resulted in agreement that the follow- ing employees are Management Employees or employees privy to confidentail management information and are not eligible to participate in the required secret ballot election to determine if the requested recognition is granted: City M_ana~er's Office Library City Manager Administrative Assistant Assistant Purchasing Agent Secretary to the City Manager Stenographer Clerk. (1) City Attorney's Office City Attorney Finance Office Director of Finance Principal Account Clerk A__irport Airport Manager Build i n~_D__el~ a r tmen t Chief Buil'ding Official Recreation and Parks Department Acting Library Director (City Librarian) Assistant Library Director Stenographer Clerk (1) Police Department Police Chief Police Captains (2) Senior Stenographer Clerk (1) Fire Department Fire Chief Fire Captains (3) Public Works Department Director of Public Works Public Works Supervisor Public Works Foreman Distribution Engineer Civil Engineer Secretary (1) Director of Recreation and Parks AND WHEREAS, it is agreed that the employees, excluding those listed above are logically divided into two appropriate units - 1) Fire Department and Sworn Police Department Employees 2) Ail other City Employees AND WHEREAS, the requests for recognition comply with the requirements of the City Council adopted September 10, 1969, and WHEREAS, the two employee units listed above are "appropriate units" NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that on April 17, 1970, the City Clerk shall conduct a secret ballot election of all eligible employees to determine if the requests for recognition represent the opinions of the required number of employees in each group as set forth in the City Council approved requirements adopted September 10, 1969.
