HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-114 1 2 6 8 9 10 11 12 13 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 $0 $1 RESOLUTION NO. 78-114 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH AMENDING THE PAY & CLASSIFICATION PLAN WHEREAS, the City Manager and Police Chief have recommended that the new position of Police Recruit be established, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Class Specification for Police Recruit is hereby approved and added to the City Classification Plan and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Pay Plan is hereby revised by adding the position of Police Recruit at Range 37. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of June 1978, by the following roll call vote: AYES: ~ ~Gouncilmembers, Myers, Simpson, Snyder, Mayor Brannon NOES Councilman Hickey ABSENT: None Mayor ATTEST: City Cle June 1978 CITY OF UKIAH Police Recruit Definition This position is a police officer trainee position and the person filling this position will be sent to the POST Basic Law Enforcement Academy. Example of Duties The police recruit will not have California Peace Officer powers. Appointment will be made immediately prior to entrance into a POST approved Basic Law Enforcement Academy. Successful completion of that academy is re- quired. In emergency situations when not attending the academy (days off, holidays, etc.), the Police Recruit may be required to do. non-police related functions at the Police Department. Employment Standards Education and Experience: Any combination to graduation from high school. Knowledges and Abilities: Ability to learn law enforce- ment principles and practices; ability to read and under- stand departmental policies, instructions, laws and regulations; ability to analyze situations and to adopt a quick, effective and reasonable course of action; ability to prepare clear and accurate reports; physical agility; keen observation and ability to remember names, faces and details of accidents; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to learn the use and care of automobiles and small firearms; ability to speak and write effectively; aptitude for law enforcement work.
