RESOLUTION NO. 78-80
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF UKIAH AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF PROJECT
PROPOSAL FOR FIRST YEAR FUNDING OF SHOP-
LIFTING PREVENTION PROGRAM TO OFFICE OF
CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING
WHEREAS, the Mendocino County Youth Project of the Mendocino
County Board of Education desires to undertake a Shoplifting
Diversion and Prevention Program aimed at youth in the community~
and
WHEREAS, the Chief Probation Officer, the Deputy Chief of
Police and the Crime Prevention Commission and the Juvenile
Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission support the need
for such a program; and
WHEREAS, the County Youth Project and County Board of Edu-
cation agree to operate the project under contract with the City
and in concert with the other three cities of the County and to
provide all necessary local matching funds; and
WHEREAS, the North Coast Region Criminal Justice Planning
Board is accepting proposals for projects to begin July 1, 1979;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the
City of Ukiah is authorized on its behalf to submit a project pro-
posal to the Office of Criminal Justice Planning for inclusion in
the 1978/79 Annual Action Program of the North Coast Region Crimi-
nal Justice Planning Board.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of March, 1978 by the
following roll call vote:
