CITY OF UKIAH AUTHORIZING EXAMINATION OF
SALES A. ND USE TAX ACCOUNTS.
WHDREAS, pursuant to Ordinance 511, the City of Ukiah entered into
a contract with the State Board of Equalization to perform all functions
incident to the administration and operation of local sales and use
taxes; and
~E~S, the City Council of the City of Ukiah deems it desirable
and necessary from time to time for an agent of the City to audit for and
in its behalf the sales and use tax transactions and collections that are
made for the City by the State Board of Equalization; and
~REAS, Section 7056 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State
of California states in part that the Board shall permit any duly author~zed
officer, or employee of such city, to examine all of the sales and use
tax records of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
THAT the City Manager or the Director of Finance, or any designated
assistant or employee of either such officer, are hereby appointed to
represent the City of Ukiah, with full authority to investigate and review
sales and use tax transactions and collections for the City, records of
which are located in the offices of the State Board of Equalization,
Sacramento, California.
SECTION 2.
THAT as provided in Section 7056 of the Revenue and Taxation Code,
the information so gained by the City Manager, Director of Finance, or any
designated assistant or employee of either such officer shall be used
only for purposes related to the collection of local sakes and use taxes
by the board pursuant to the contract.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this _ 5t5 day of July, 1967, by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmen Crook, Henderson, Harlowe, and Vice-Mayor Scotto.
NOES' None.
ABSENT- Hayor Norgard.
