RESOLUTION NO. 79-65
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF UKIAH AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF POLICE
VEHICLES
WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah wishes to purchase motor vehicles
for police department use, and
WHEREAS, the best purchase price available is through the
State of California, Department of General Services, Office of
Procurement.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Manager
is authorized to purchase four (4) police vehicles from the State
of California, per purchase order attached.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this April 4, 1979 by the following roll
call vote:
AYES:Councilmembers Hickey, Myers, Simpson, Brannon, Mayor Snyder
NOES: None
ABSENT: None

under the authority of Section 14814 of the Government Code of the State of California.

Under Section 14814, the State is authorized to make purchases of materials, equipment, or supplies, other than printed matter, on behalf of
any city, county, city and county, district, or other local governmental body or corporation empowered to expend public funds for the
acquisition of property, upon written request of such agency. The law expressly provides that the State shall incur no financial responsibility
in connection with purchases for local agencies under this Section.
The local agencies shall be solely responsible for payment to the vendor and will make payment to the vendor in accordance with the
provisions of the purchase order. All purchases shall be subject to audit and inspection by the local agency for which mode.
Where applicable in the General Provisions of the Invitation for Bid and Bid, references to the State shall include, or mean, as appropriate,
the local agency on whose behalf the purchase is being made.
