RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF UKIAH APPROVING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT
WITH UKIAH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR PROMOTIONAL
AND ADVERTISING ACTIVITIES FOR FISCAL 1978-79
WHEREAS, the City of Ukiah has for several years contracted
with the Chamber of Commerce for community promotion activities,
and
WHEREAS, these activities have been of benefit to the
City, and
WHEREAS, a contract for fiscal 1978-79 has been proposed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Agreement for
Promotional Services attached hereto and made a part hereof is
approved and the Mayor authorized to execute same on behalf
of the City.

1978, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Hickey, Myers, Simpson, Vice Mayor Snyder
NOES: None

AGREEMENT RETAINING GREATER
UKIAH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR PROMOTIONAL AND
ADVERTISING ACTIVITIES FOR THE CITY OF UKIAH
1978-79
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into in duplicate by and
between the City of Ukiah, a municipal corporation, hereinafter
called "City" and the Greater Ukiah Chamber of Commerce, an
association, hereinafter called "Chamber".
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, Chamber is located in the City of Ukiah and is
an association formed for the purpose of making known the vir-
tues and advantages of the City of Ukiah for the general
purpose of attracting visitors, settlers or businesses to
such area, and has experience and facilities for promotion and
advertising work:
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows:
1. The Chamber agrees to carry on a continuing program.of
advertising and promotional activities designed to make
known the virtues and advantages of the City of Ukiah.
2. The Chamber agrees to exhibit or advertise the current
commercial, industrial, climatic, educational, rec~eation,
cultural, and other resources and advantages of the City
of Ukiah.
3. The Chamber agrees to perform such further and other ser-
vices as City may from time to time require subject to
the availability of adequate funding.
4. City agrees to make the following payments, provide the
following utilities and perform the following services:
a) City hereby agrees to pay to Chamber the sum of
$15,000 to be paid one-half during Decembe~r, 1978, and
one-half during April, 1979.
b City agrees to furnish, free of gharge, electric

energy to Chamber office at 495E East Perkins Street,
Ukiah, California. Such electric energy shall be furnished
free of charge, solely for the usual purposes of operating
an office, and in no event shall the kilowatt usage of
such power exceed 19,000 kilowatts per year.
5. Chamber agrees in accepting from City the monies herein
agreed to be paid, to use said monies only for those
activities directly or primarily benefiting areas inside
City. Chamber further agrees that such monies shall be
used only for and in accordance with the proposed uses
heretofore submitted bt' Chamber, to wit:

4. It is proposed to reallocate $1,500 from
Sister City reserve established last year
'to fund Industrial Development Con~ittee
for outreach activities. Promotional
material will be updated, successful pro-
grams in other areas will be contacted &
a full program developed for funding review
in fiscal 1979-1980.

Chamber may expend monies received from City on the projects
enumerated above in such amounts deemed necessary by Chamber,
not to exceed the amounts set forth for each project. Chambo~r
also agrees to furnish to City before termination of this

contract, an itemized accounting showing specifically for
what purposes and in what amounts the allocation from City
has been spent.
6. The term of this contract shall run until the 30th day
of June, 1979.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, this agreement has been duly executed by
Chamber this day of , 1978, and by City
