RESOLUTION GRANTING VARIANCE TO
LEROY J. KELLEY
The City Council of the C~ ty of Uki'ah does hereby
RESOLVE:
An application for variance having been duly presented and fi led,
the Planning Commission of the City of Ukiah having duly held a public
hearing, taken evidence~ and made and filed its recommendations, and
the City Council of the City of Ukiah? having duly considered the recom-
mendations of' the Planning Commission;
The City Council hereby finds that the proposed variance is in
mony with the general purpose of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Ukiah and meets the conditions thereof; and

RESOLUTION APPROVING PETITION FOR THE FORMATION
OF A PARKING DISTRICT, FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST, CONVENIENCE AND NECES-
SITY REQUIRE THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
OF PARKING METERS ON PUBLIC STREETS IN SAID DIS-
TRICT, AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MAKE
AND FILE A REPORT.
WHEREAS, on ~~ 27, 1965, there was filed
with the City Clerk a petition for the formation of a parking
district pursuant to the Parking District Law of 1951, being
Part 4, Division 18 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has examined said petition
and has certified to this City Council that said petition is
signed by the owners of rea]. property in the proposed district,
as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, owning real
property of an assessed value of more than fifty-one per cent
(51%) of the total assessed value of all taxable real property
in said district, as shown by said assessment roll, and owning
taxable land in said district constituting more than fifty-one
per cent (51%) of the total area of all taxable land in said
district; and

WHEREAS, the total assessed value of all taxable
real property in said proposed district, as shown by the last
equalized assessment roll is $~,9~,~ and the assessed value
of the taxable real property in said proposed district owned
by the signers of said petition as shown by said assessment
roll, is $ 2.~o,1.~0; and
WHEREAS, the total area of all taxable land in said
proposed district is ~.4,~__ acres and the area of taxable
land in said proposed distr1~ct owned by the signers of said
petition is 30.72 _ acres;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Ukiah, as follows:
Section 1. Said petition contains all the matters
and things required by said Parking District Law of 1951 and
is signed by the requisite r. lumber of qualified signers and is
in all respects a good and sufficient petition, and the certi-
ficate of the City Clerk that said petition is signed by the
requisite number of qualified signers is in proper form and is
sufficient, and this City Council hereby approves said petition.
Section 2. This City Council hereby finds and de-
termines that the public interest, convenience and necessity
require that the City maintain, or continue to maintain, or
install and maintain parking meters on public ways within the
proposed district as proposed and set forth in paragraph 6 of
said petition, the net rever~ues from which meters are to
be allocated and pledged to any of the purposes specified
by the Law, including the payment of the principal of and
interest on any bonds issued to finance the acquisitions and
improvements herein described and to payment of operation and
maintenance costs of said parking places and to the establish-
ment and maintenance of any reserve funds, sinking funds or
other funds designed for securing or paying said bonds and the
interest thereon, and it is hereby agreed that this City will
maintain, or continue to maintain, or install and maintain said
meters as set forth in paragraph 6 of said petition and to so
allocate and pledge the net revenues therefrom, all for a pe-
riod of twenty (20) years from the date of said bonds, or such
portion of said twenty (20) years as is necessary to produce
from said parking meters net revenues which, together with
other revenues and moneys available for such purpose, will be
sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on said bonds
as the same fall due.
S_ectlo..n. 3. The City Engineer is hereby directed to
make and file with the City Council a report containing the
matters specified in Section 35257 of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California.

duly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of

Council had due notice and at which a majority thereof was
present; that at said meeting said resolution was intro-
duced by Councilman Scot'to and read in full,

been amended, modified or rescinded since the date of its
adoption, and the same is now in full force and effect.
