RESOLUTION NOo 66-5
RESOLUTION COMMENDING A. F. ANTON
UPON HIS RESIGNATION FROM THE
RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION.
The City Council of the City of Ukiah does hereby
RESOLVE:
WHEREAS, Mr. Ao F:. Anton, after 12 years of service
to this community as a member of the Recreation and Parks
Commission, has submitted his resignation from that commission
because he is moving from this community, it is only fitting
and proper that the City of Ukiah gratefully acknowledge
his many contributions to the cause of recreation in this
a rea.
Even before his appointment to the Recreation Commission
A1 Anton was devoted to the cause of community recreation.
In the early 1950's he sparked the construction of Anton
Stadium, widely recognized as the finest baseball facility
in the north coast area. At it's dedication in 1952 the
stadium was officially given the name "Anton Stadium" in
recognition of Mr. Anton's personal efforts in i ts develop-
ment.
Since his appointment to the Commission in 1~53 A1 Anton
has consistently been an enthusiastic advocate of furtherance
of recreation programs and overall park development. As
Chairman of the Commission for the past .5 years he gave
dynamic leadership to
