RESOLUTION NO.,~ 65-30
RESOLUTION PURSUANT TO SECTION
10052 OF THE PUBLIC UTILITIES
CODE.
WHEREAS Pacific Gas and Electric Company plans to
expand its natL~ral gas sytem by the construction of approximately
58 miles of 12-inch main from a point near the City of Santa Rosa
to the Masonite plant in the vicinity of the City of Ukiah; and
~:VHEREAS this project will bring natural gas to the ci'ties
of Ukiah and Cloverdale, as w~ll as to unincorporated areas of
Sonoma and Mendocino Counties where natural gas service is
now available; and
~^,:HEREAS 'the construction of said project by Pacific Gas
and Electric Company will result in substantial reduction o'f: the.
monthly fuel bills now being paid in the ar~a involved, will
attract new industry, will provide greater tax income to the
Cities of Ukiah and Cloverdale, the Counties of Sonoma arid
Mendocir~o, and local taxing districts in said ~counties, and
will further the economic development of the ar~;~a to be s~rved
by said project; and
?.?HEREAS a condition precedent to the undertaking of
said project by Pacific Gas and Electric Company is the
acquisition by it of the municipal propane gas system of the
City of Ukiah; and
¥,.~HEREAS Pacific Gas and Electric Company has offered to
purchase said propane gas system of the City of: Ukiah for
· ~he sum of $725,000; and
I~"HEREAS the City Council of the City of Ukiah believes
that the best interests of the City and its citizens ~vill be
served by the acceptance of said offer of Pacific Gas and
Electric Company; and
