Resolution, to-wig:
WHERE%S 0NL~.~ one written protest against the calling of a special
election at which to submit to the electors residing in that certain
territory designated as "Southwest Addition No. 3 to the ~itzr of Uki~h"
the ~uestion as to whether or not said desia'nated property shall be
a~nexed to, incorporated in, and made a Dart of said municipality,
and subjected to taxation after a~anexation equally with~ the property
within the City of Uki~h to Day the 1948 Improvement Bond Indebtedness
of said City of Ukiah remaining unpaid in the sum of ~377,000.00,
having been filed with this Boar~.,
~0W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That a special election be and i~ is hereby called for the 24th
dsy of July, 19~1 at ~hich there shall be submitted to the electors
residing in sa&d ~erritory, the question of whether or not the "South-
west Additio~/~'tane City of Ukiah., shall be annexed to, incorporated
in, and made a part of s&id City of Ukiah and subjected to taxation
after annexation equally with the ~oDerty within the City of Ukiah
to pay the 1948 Improvement Bond Indebtedness of said City of Ukiah
remaining unpaid in the sum of ~377,000.00,
That the territory described in the Notice given below shall
coK, stitute one (1) voting precinct for the said election;
That the polls will be at 419 Cochrane Avenue, Ukiah, California~
and the officials for holding such election shall be 72) Judges and
one (1) Inspector;

an~ Zella Water/he-¥~aereby apnointed Inspector of said election, and
the City Oler~ of said City is hereby directed to oubl!sh for not
less than four (4) successive weeks next preceding the date of such
election in the WILLITS NE~:~, a newspaper o~'~ ~ .i~ed in the County
of Mendocino, State of California, and out~ide of the C~.t¥ of Ukiah,
the following notice, to-wit:
Noti~ is further ~iven that the-,provements
for which the indebtedness aforesaid was incurred are as
follows:
1. Additions and $1terations of the sewage
disposal plant of the City of Ukiah consisting of sludge
beds, digester, clarifier, chlorinating houses and equipment,
flow recorder, tractor and plow, pumps, valves and pipe lines
and other necessary equipment a~'~d ap~':~urtensnces for the
operation thereof;
~. Construction of sewers, m municipal improvement
consisting of sewer mains, laterals, rights of way, man holes,
lamp holes, and a~?urtenances for the disoosal of sewage of s~ld
City of Ukiah; ~
3. The construction of the water reservoir and
distribution system, a municipal improvement consisting of water
reservoir, with a capacity of two ~nd one-half million gallons,
together with additional water distribution system consisting
of pipe lines,~mins, valves, pumps, and ri~ts~ of way, and the
necessary appurtenances for the storage and distribution of
water in said Oity of Ukiah.
NOTICE OF ELECTION
Notice is herby given that a Special Election will be ~eld in the territory
below on the 24th day of Suly, 1951, at which time there will be submitted to the
registered, qualified electors of said territory, the following question, to wit:
"SHALL THE TERRITORY I~OWN AS SOUTHEST ADDITION NU~ER T~REE BE AMNEXED TO THE
SAID CITY OF UKIAH AND THE PROPERTY IN THE TERRITORY SUBJECTED TO TAXATION AFTER
A~H~EXATION EQUALLY WITH THE PRPERTY WITHIN ~qE CITY OF UKIAH TO PAY THE 1948
I~PROVE~NT BOND INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CI?f OF UKIAH REMAINING UNPAID IN THE S~
OF $377~000.00. ~aximum ~nterest rate on said bonds is 2.75 per cent.
On the ballot, opposite this question, there will be printed two (2) words,
"Yes and "No" and to the right of each of these two words there will be a voting
~quare. If an elector shall stamp a cross (X) in the voting square after the
printed word "Yes", the vote of such elector will be counted in favor of the
annexation and increased taxation of the territory referred to in such proposition,
and if an elector shall stamp a cross (X~ in the voting square rafter the printed
"No", the vote of such elector will be counted agalnst such annexation and taxation.
Notice is further given that the territory, proposed to be annexed to the said
City of Ukiah is situate in the County of ~{endocino, S~te of California,
immediately adjoin.~mg the southwest bounday of said City of Ukiah, and is parttic-
ularly described as follows, to-wit:
BEGINNING at the northwest corner of the Mead Addition to the city
of Ukiah, thence southerly 150 feet along the west bounday of said
Mead Addition, thence V~esterly parallel with the south line of Luce
Aveneue and continuing along the same line to a point in what ~ould
be an extension of the west line of Yokayo Rancho running southerly
from Post Y 49 through Post Y 48 of said Yokayo Rancho, thence
northerly along said extension and along the Yokayo Rahcho line to
the present City Limits line and following said line in the meanderings
thereof to the northeast corner of said N~ead Addition, thence westerly
along the north line of said ~'~ead Addition to the point of beginning.
The territory sought to be annexed shall be designate~ as, referred to, and
indicated upon the ballots as:
"SOUTHR'~ST ADDITION NO. 3"
That for the purpose of this Special Election, there shall be one (1) voting
precinct, comprising all of said territory; That Polls will be at the residence
of Perry Keely at ~19 Cochrane Avenue, Ukiah, California, and will be open from
7:00 A. M. to 7:00 P. M. on said date above given.
