Cober, of the said County, being duly sworn, deposes and says' THAT he is and at all the times herein mention- ed was a citizen of the United States, over the age of twenty-one years, and that he is not a party to, nor interested in the above entitled matter; that he is the publisher of the Redwood Journal-Press- Dispatch, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published tri-weekly in the City of Ukiah, California, County of Mendocino, and which newspaper is published for the dissemina- tion of local news and intelligence of a general character, and which newspaper at all the times herein mentioned had and still has a bona fide subscription list of paying subscribers, and which newspaper has been established, printed and pub- lished at regular intervals in the said City of Uldah, California, County of Mendocino, for a period exceeding one year neXt preceding the date of publication of the notice hereinafter referred to; and which newspaper is not devoted to nor published for the interests, entertainment or in- struction of a particular class, profession, trade, calling, race, or denomination, or any number of same; that the notice, of which the annexed is a printed copy, has been published in each regular and entire issue of said newspaper, and not in any supplement thereof on the following dates, to-wit: 0ctobez 9,. 11, 1950. PROTESTS TO PROPOSED 'AN- NEXATION OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITy UKIA H, WHEREAS, the City Council of th~ City of Ukiah has received Written pe- tition requesting annexation of certain lands hereinafter particularly de- scribed, by which Petition it is prok posed that certain territory be annexed t(. tSe City of Ukiah as uninhabited territory, which s~id Petition is signed by the pwners c.f-not less thdn one- fourth of:the land in the territory pro~ p6sed to be annexed by area and by value;~.a.s ~shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Men- dotards. State of California, in which the territory is situated, the City Coun- cil of the City of Ukiah does hereby resolve as' follows: That st the ho~r of 8 o'clock P.M. on the 25th day of October. 1950, at the Council .Chambers of the City Council of the City of Ukiah, at Ukiah, California, the City Council of the City of Uklah will hear and consider any objections or protests to the proposed annexation to the City of Ukiab, and any per~On8 owning real property with- in such territory S0u~ht to be'annexed and having any objections to the pro- posed annexation may appear before said City Council and show e:ause, if o~ry he has, why such territory should not be annexed. I~IERCER PETITION TO ANNEX UNINHABITED TERRIT,0.RY TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH: The undersigned, owners of real property within the area of the lands hereinafter particularly described, re- spectfully Petition the City Council of the City of Ukiah that said lands, hereinafter described, be annexed to said City of Ukiah, and do hereby represent as follows: That the lands sought to be annexed to the City of Ukiah are situate in the County of Mendocino, State of California, and particularly described as follows, to-wit: COMMENCING at a point where the West bo~mdary line of the California State Highw.ay intersects the North boundary line of Lot 94 of Yokayo Rancho and rtuaning thence Westerly along the North boundary line of said Lot 94 a distance of 220 feet; thence northerly and parallel with the West bound~a~y line of said State Highway a distance of ~30.00 feet; thence Easterly and parallel with the North boundary line of said Lot 94 of Yokayo Rancho 220 feet to the Westerly boundax-y line of said State Highway; thence Southerly along the Westerly boundary line of said State Highway 630.00 feet to the point of beginning. That the undersigned, signers of this Petition, are the owners of over one-fourth of the lands described above and herein sought to be annexed to said City of Ukiah, and that the assessed value of the lands of the undersigned and situ- ate within boundaries of the above described lands are of an assessed value in excess of one-fourth of the assessed value of all of the lands above described. That the lands herein sought to be annexed to the City of Ukiah are contiguous to the present boundaries of said City of Ukiah. That each of the following signers of this Petition is an owner of land within the area hereinabove described and sought to be annexed to the said City of Ukiah, and that said area of land does not contain in all in excess of ten (10) persons resident therein.
