CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION IN THE CITY OF UKIAH
FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED
VOTERS OF THE CITY THE PROPOSITION OF ISSUING
REVENUE BONDS UNDER THE REVENUE BOND LAW OF 1941
TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUC-
TION, IMPROVING AND FINANCING OF A CERTAIN SANI-
TARY SEWAGE TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL ENTERPRISE,
DECLARING THE ESTIMATED COST OF THE ENTERPRISE,
THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF THE BONDS AND THE MAXIMUM
RATE OF INTEREST TO BE PAID THEREON, FIXING THE
DATE OF SAID ELECTION, THE MANNER OF HOLDING SAME,
AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE T~i~OF
SEWER PROJECT
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Ukiah, Mendocino
County, California, as follows:
1. A special municipal election is hereby called and
ordered and will be held in the City of Ukiah on Tuesday, the
~h day of September, 1955, at which election shall be submitted
to the qualified voters the proposition of issuing revenue bonds
pursuant to the Revenue Bond Law of 1941 of the State of Calif-
ornia, for the purpose of providing funds for the objects and
purposes set forth in the following proposition, to-wit:
PROPOSITION: Shall the City of Ukiah issue revenue

zmprovzng ~nd financing of additions, extensions and
improvements to the City sewerage system consisting
of sewage treatment and disposal facilities, pumping
stations, force mains, sewer mains, interceptor and
outfall sewers, and all work auxiliary to any of the
above which may be required to carry out the same,
and the acquisition of lands and easements necessary
therefor, together with all costs and expenses inci-
dental thereto, pursuant to the Revenue Bond Law of
19417
~o The estimated cost of the acquisition, construction,
i improving and financing of the enterprise, and the expenses in-
cidental thereto, as set forth in the proposition, is the sum of
3. The principal amount of the bonds to be issued therefor
and the rate of interest to be paid on the
bonds shall not exceed six per cent (6%) per annum, payable
annually or semi-annually.
4. The Council does hereby submit to the qualified voters
of the City, at the special municipal election, this resolution
and the proposition set forth in Section 1 hereof. The Council
proposes to issue and sell revenue bonds of the City in the
amount and for the objects and purposes specified in the proposi-
tion if a majority of all the voters voting on the proposition
vote in favor thereof.
5o The bonds, including the interest thereon, shall be a
special obligation of the City, payable exclusively from and
secured by the revenue of the enterprise, and shall not be secured
by the taxing power of the City, and the City and its officers
shall not be under any obligation to pay same excepting from said
revenue s.
6. All of the bonds of this series are equally and ratably
secured without priority by reason of number, sale, execution or
delivery, by a lien upon the revenues herein pledged to the pay-
ment thereof.
7. The said special municipal election shall be held and
conducted, the votes thereof canvassed, the returns thereof made,
and result thereof ascertained and determined as herein provided;
and in all other particulars not prescribed by this resolution the
election shall be held and the votes canvassed pursuant to law
for general municipal elections in the City.
8. For the purpose of holding and conducting said special
~ election, four election precincts are hereby established within
the boundaries of said City, which precincts are a consolidation
of all of the County election precincts as last established by
the Board of Supervisors of Mendocino County for the conducting
of general elections in said County in so far as they fall wholly
or partially within the City of Ukiah. The descriptions of said

consolidated precincts, the polling places designated therefor,
and the election officers to conduct said election are as follows:
CONSOLIDATED PRECINCT "A" comprising those portions of
Precincts Ukiah City 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7 as lie within the bound-
aries of the City of Ukiah.

9. Ballots for the election shall be provided of the
~form and to the number provided by law. On the ballots, in addi-
tion to any other printed matter which may be required by law,
two voting squares shall be set off to the right of the proposi-
tion submitted at the election and set forth in Section 1 of
this resolution, one having the word "YES" printed before it and
the other having the word "NO~' printed before it.
10. Each voter to vote for the proposition and for incur-
ring the bonded indebtedness shall stamp a cross (X) in the blank
space opposite the word "YES" on the ballot to the right of the
proposition, and to vote against the proposition and against in-
curring the indebtedness, shall stamp a cross (X) in the blank
space opposite the word '%~O" on the ballot to the right of the
proposi tion.
ll. The polls shall be opened at 7:00 o'clock A. M. of
the day of the election and shall be kept open until 7:00 o'clock
P. M. of the same day, when the polls shall be closed, except as
to voters in line as provided in Section 5734 of the Elections
Code°
12. This resolution is adopted pursuant to Chapter 6,
comprising Sections 54300 to 54672, inclusive, of Part 1, Division
2, Title 5 of the Government Code of the State of California, the
Revenue Bond Law of 1941o
13. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a copy
of this resolutions, once a week for two succeeding weeks in the
Ukiah ~y~~.£, a newspaper published less than six days a
week in said City, and such publication shall constitute notice
of the election.

I hereby certify t'hat the foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly adopted and passed by the City Council of the City
of Ukiah, California, at a meeting thereof held on the 17th day
of August, 1955, by the following vote of the members thereof'
