PROPOSED ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING OR REVISING SEWER
SERVICE CHARGES AND DECLA21ING THAT DELINQUENT
CHARGES AlfD PENALTIES WHEN RECORDED SHALL CONSTI-
TUTE A LIEN UPON THE REAL PROPERTY SERInED
that
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Ukiah, California,
WHEREAS, on March 2, 1955, this Council adopted Ordinance
No. 471 entitled Ordinance. Providing for Construction and Improve-
ment of Se~age Disposal System, wherein it did prescribe charges
for the services and facilities furnished by the City sanitary
sewerage system; and
Wh~REAS, on Nays8', 1.957, the Council introduced Ordinance
No. ~'i~2~ entitled An Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 471, entitle~
Ordinance Providing for Construction and Improvements to Sewerage
Disposal System Relating to Sewer Service Charses, wherein the
Council represcribed said charges and declared that delinquent
charges and penalties, when recorded as provided in the Revenue
Bond Law of 1941, shall constitute a lien upon the real property
served;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT lis ORDERED, as follows:

P.N. (California Daylight"'Savin~ Time), Council Chambers, City
Hall, Ukiah, California, have been fixed as the time and place
where the Council will hold a hearing on said ordinance and will
consider and act on same, at which time and place any person in-
terested, including all persons owning property in the City, may
appear and be heard as to whether the proposed rates and charges
therein are discriminatory or excessive, or will not be sufficient
under Section 54515 of the Government Code, or will not comply with
any other provision of the, Revenue Bond Law of 1941, or will not
be sufficient under the provisions or covenants of any outstanding
for proposed revenue bonds of the City payable from the revenues of
~.iiits sanitary sewerage system, or on any other matter relating to
said proposed ordinance or the rates or charges proposed therein.
2. The Clerk shall cause a notice of said hearing to be
given, containing a copy of said amendatory ordinance, stating the
time and place of hearing, and giving notice of the matters to be
heard in relation thereto as provided in the Revenue Bond Law of
1941, shall be published once a week for two weeks prior to the
hearing, the first of which shall be at least 15 days prior there-
to, in the ~iah Daily Journal.
3. At the hearing, the Council may change or modify the
proposed rates and charges; provided, that no rate or charge shall
be raised or increased from that set forth in the proposed ordinanc
unless notice of the intention to make said increase shall be pub-
lished once at least 10 days prior to the hearing on the proposed
charge.
4, At the conclusion of the hearing the Council may determin
that the proposed rates an~ charges, as originally proposed or
modified as herein provided, are not discriminatory and excessive,
and ~..~ill be sufficient under Section 54515 of the Y~evenue Bond La~.~
of 1941, and will comply with said law, and will be sufficient
under the provisions and covenants of any outstanding or proposed
revenue bonds of the City payable from the revenues of the (City
sanitary sewerage system, and will be in compliance with la~.~, and
adopt the ordinance as proposed or modified as provided herein.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and
correct copy of a resolution which was adopted at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the ~ity of Ukiah duIy held on May~, 1957,
