HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-37 RESOLUTION NO. 2000-37 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH REMOVING ON-STREET METERED PARKING AND ESTABLISHING A NO- PARKING ZONE ALONG SEMINARY AVENUE WHEREAS, the City Council may by resolution designate portions of streets upon which the standing, parking, or stopping of vehicles is prohibited or restricted pursuant to Article 11, Chapter 1, Division 8 of the Ukiah City Code; and WHEREAS, the provisions of Section 21458 of the California Vehicle Code provides for no parking adjacent to curbs painted red; and WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineering Committee (Traffic Engineer) considered the request from the Fire Department to establish a "No Parking Zone" within the City of Ukiah; and WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineer recommends the request regarding this "No Parking Zone". NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Ukiah does establish a "No Parking Zone" on Seminary Avenue, located on the south side of the median island, beginning at the intersection with State Street and extending 50 feet west. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of April, 2000 by the following roll call vote: AYES: NOES: None. ABSENT: Mayor Mastin. ABSTAIN: None. Councilmembers Smith, Libby, Baldwin, and Vice-Mayor Ashiku.
