HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-61 RESOLUTION NO. 80-61 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH DECLARING RESULTS OF ELECTION WHEREAS, it appears that Notice of Election was fully and legally given, that voting precincts were properly established, and that in all respects said election results were received and canvassed, and the returns thereof ~,made, determined, and declared in time, form and manner as required by the 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 6 !i laws of the State of California providing 'for and regulating Municipal iiElections in cities of the General Law Class, and !:I.IHEREAS, the City Council of said City of Ukiah met in the Council Chambers ~ thereof on Tuesday, the 15th of April 1980, to canvass returns of said election and install the newly elected officers, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds as a result of said canvass, the number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for, and other matters as re- quired by law to be as hereinafter stated, NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved, determined and declared as follows' That the General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Ukiah on Tuesday, April 8, 1980, in time, form and manner prescribed by law; That the matters enumerated in Section 22933 of the Elections Code are contained in the Statement of Election which statement is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. RESOLVED THEREFORE, that at said General Hunicipal Election held in the City of Ukiah, April 8, 1980, the following persons were elected to the following offices respectively' CHARLES G. MYERS was elected a member of the City Council for the full term of four years from and after April 8, 1980, and until his successor is elected and qualified. KATHRYN B. RILEY was elected a member of the City Council for the full term of four years from and after April 8, 1980, and until her successor is elected and qualified. THEODOR S.K. FEIBUSCH was elected a member of the City Council for the full term of four years from and after April 8, 1980, and until his successor is elected and qualified. HATTIE TILLOTSON was elected City Clerk for the full term of -four years from and after April 8, 1980 and until her successor is elected and qualified. RUBY ORR was elected City Treasurer for the full term of four years from and after April 8, 1980, and until her successor is elected and qualified. ~BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the advisory measure as follows passed' !"Should the Governor and Legislature of the State of California be advised i that: It is the will of the people of the City of Ukiah that the Governor ,and the Legislature apportion the existing six cents state sales and use i tax so that two cents rather than the present one cent be allocated to be 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 :24 i' ii i' 26 I' :27 :, used by cities and counties for priority.local services rather than by the state for state services or to the state surplus PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of April, 1980, by the following roll call vote' I AYES' Councilmembers Hickey, Myers, Simpson, Brannon, Snyder 'NOES' None ABSENT' None ATTEST' City C1 erk CERTIFICATE OF COUNTY CLERK OF RESULT OF THE CANVASS GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION, APRIL 8, 1980 STATE OF CALIFORNIA) ) SS.
