FEBRUARY .Ii¼., 1961
The City Council convened in regular session in the Council
Chambers at 8:00 P.M. wi. th Mayor ~uxton, Councilmen Runkel,
Smalley, Banker and Wagner present· The City Manager and
City Attorney were not present as they were out of town
on official business. The City Engineer was absent due
to illness.
APPROVAL OF WARRANTS:
On a motion by Councilman

On a motion by Councilman Smalley, seconded by Councilman
Banker, it was unanimously carried. Payroll Warrants in the

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
On a motion by Councilman Runkel, seconded by Councilman
Smalley, it was unanimously carrie.O_ the minutes of February
8, 1961 be approved as submitted by the Clerk.

DIRECTOR - ALTA DAHLBERG:
Members of the Council were advised by a memorandum from the
City Manager that Miss Alta Dahlberg has been appointed Acting
Finance Director on a temporary basis·
HOLIDAY - FEBRUARY 22
WASHINGT0i~'S BIRTHDAY:
The Council was also advised by memorandum that February 22,
1961, ~,ashington's Birthday, is a legal holiday and according
to City of Ukiah Personnel Policies the City Hall will be
closed. Inasmuch as the ordinance setting up the schedule
of regular meeting of the City Council requires that the
regular meeting be held on the day following any holiday, the
Council meeting will be held on Thursday, February 23, 1961
in conformance with the provisions of the ordinance.
RESIGNATI0Y - STAR STAFFORD
RECREATION DIRECTOR:
The announcement was made that Stan Stafford, Recreation
Director, has submitted his resignation and will report to
his new position in Colton March 1st.
DISCUSSION 0F CUT AND FILL
OPERATION AT CITY DUMP:
In discussing the operation at the City Dump, the opinion
was expressed that as soon as the weather permits the City
Engineer should work out a cut and fill operation as set
forth ~n the garbage ordinance.
MAYOR BUXTON:
Members of the Council were reminded that the next meeting
of the League of Calif. Cities, North Bay Division, will be
held at Hamilton Field and will include a sightseei~ug tour
which should prove very interesting.
HF~RT FUND ASS'~ DRIVE:
Mayor Buxton endorsed the Heart Association Fund Drive during
the month of February 1961. This Drive is being conducted
by representatives of the I.O.O.F Lodge #174 and the Rebecca
Lodge #158.

As there was no further regular business, Nayor buxton de-
clared the meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
