The 0ity Council convened in regular session in the Council
Chambers at ~:00 P.M. w~.~th Mayor £maliey, Council~.en Runkel,
Ranker and Wagner present. Councilman Buxton was ah. sent.
APPROVAL OF ~¥A~RANTS:
On a motion by Councilman Wagner, seconded hy Councilman ?anker,
it was unanimously carried Warrant No. 136[ payable to Police
OfFicer Lawrence J. Tho~as for replacement of a holster in the
amount of ~1~.5[, be approved.
On a motion by Councilman Runkel, s~acond~d by Councilman
Wagner, it was unani~ously carried General Warr~ts in the
amount of ~7,230.~97 be approved.
On a motion by Councilman Runkel, seconded hy Councilman Banker,
it was unanimously carried Payroll ..~,arrants in the amount of
1~~''~2~,'' 7821961.' 33 be appro~d for the pay· ~riod from May 1, to May

Banker, it was unanimously carried the minutes of May.10, 1961
be approved as corrected.

Members of the Council were a~vised that the contract with
Fitzpatrick and Poulsen of Santa tiosa for conducting an annual
audit of City ~ecords has ~xp~red. It was the City Manager's
recommendation, h. ased on the excellant service rend. ered by
this auditing firm and the fact that this type of servic~
does not require a formal bid call, that new contract be
prepared by the City Attorney employing the services of

Fitzpatrick and Poulsen for 3 years at the rate of 4~1,250.00
per year. The Council concurred with the City Manager's
recommendation.
MILLVIEW REQUESt' FOR WATER
CONNECTI0i~i FOR E~'[ERGENCY P~RPOSES:
The City Manaj.:er reviewed a request from the Mtllview Water
District to extend their water line from the vicinity of the
Lu-Ann Motel, Redwood. Highway North to connect with the City
line which dead ends ~n front of the 3-R Market for the pur-
pose of obtaining water in case of e~ergency. The oxpense of
the extension would be borne by the Millview District.
On a motion b..y Councilman ?fagner, seConde5 ~'by Councilman Banker,
it was carried by a 4 to 1 vote the r~quest from the Millview
~ater District be rejected.

OWNED PROPERTY FOR
PARKING LOT:
Members of the Council were advised of a request from the
owners of the Eversole Mortuary that their lease of city-
owned, property on N. School Street for parking purposes be
continued on a month to month basis, efCective July 1, 1961,
for an indefinite period of time.
On a motion by Councilman Runkel, seconded by Councilman Buxton,
it was unanimously carried the Eversole's be allowed to rent
for parking purposes city-owned property located on }I. School
Street on a month to month basis for an indefinite neriod of
time at the rate of ;!~40.00 p~r month. -

Punkel,~. it was unanimously carried the request of ~r~' .~. Don
Heller of the Holy Trinity Church be granted to ~er~it block-
~ng of }{enry Street between Pine and Bush Street~ between
12'00 Noon and 8:00 P.M. on Saturday June 10th for the annual
strawberry i"-~e s ti val.
RECEPTION & LUNCHEON

Members of the Council were invited to attend a reception
and luncheon honoring Governor Brown to be held Tuesday,
May 23 at 2:00 P.M. at t'he ?lamingo Hotel in ~an~a Rosa.
i'~otice was given of a meeting to be held Friday, May 19th
at 3:00 P.M. at the Palace Hotel with members of the San
Francisco Chamber of Commerce.

LIGHTING SYSTEM:
The City Manager reported to the Council that extensive dam-
age to the airport lighting system by an aircraft resulted
in a cost of between ~0C and :?900 for wire replacement' T~is
matter is being investigated thoroughly to determine if insurance
carried by owner of the plane w~.ll cover the damage incurred.

go~uncilman fagner inquired if further steps had been taken
to correct the water problem on Cooper Lane and was informed
that the engineer~n~_ ~ de~a~tment~ ~ has developed cost figures
which will be presented to the property owners in this area.
ADJOUP NMENT:
As there was no further regular business, Mayor Smalley
declared the meeting adjourned at 10'?? P.M. after which
the Council reconvened in closed personnel session.
