OF THE CITY OF UKIAH JUNE 27, ~962 The City Council convened in regular session ir, the Chambers at 8:00 P.M. wi th Mayor Wagner, Councilmen Buxton, Banker and Sma]ley present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Counci! Runkel , On a motion by Councilman Buxton, seconded by it was unanimously carried the minutes of June a pp roved a s co r rec ted. Councilman Smalley, 20, ] 962 be APPROVAL OF WARRANTS: On a motion by Councilman Buxton, it was unanimously carried General $7,481 .44 be approved and ordered RES NO. 62-L~6 ORDERING DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO PROCEED WITH THE ABATEMENT OF WEEDS AND RUBBLE: seconded by Councilman Banker, Warrants in the amount of paid. Public Hearing on weed and rubbish abatement was declared open by Mayor Wagner at 8:07 P.M. The City Attorney filed the Assessor's Certification of List of Names and Addresses of Owners of Described Properties dated June ]8, 1962 alon9 with the Affidavit of Mailin9 of the City Clerk and Affidavit of Postin9 of the Director of Public Works. The Certificate of Director of Public Works wi thdrawin9 certain properties from order to destroy weeds and remove rubbish, refuse and dirt, as contained i n Res. No. 62-44 was fi 1 ed wi th the C 1 erk. There were no property owners present expressing cbjections to the abatement of weeds, rubbish, refuse and dirt on properties listed under Resolution No. 62-4/+. Public Hearing was declared closed by Mayor Wagner at 8:10 P.M. On a motion by Councilman Banker, seconded by Councilman Buxton, it was unanimously carried Resolution No. 62-46 "Resolution Orderin9 Di rector of Public Works to Proceed wi th the Abatement of Weeds and Rubble" be adopted and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same. PROPOSED LEASE OF AIRPORT PROPERTY BY K.F.D. & THE PATIO WITHDRAWN: The Council was advised of information received by the City Manager to the effect that K.F.D. and The Patio have withdrawn their proposal to lease airport property for the purpose of parkin9 as arrangements have been made to lease private property. AGREEMENTS FOR THE WIDENING OF MAIN STREET: On a mot i on it was unanimously carried the followin9 agreements between the City and property owners on Main Street be approved for street widenin9 purposes and the Mayor & Clerk be authorized si 9n same: Burl & Ri ta Se?ts Jessie Crawford Alice E. Lamb John C. Crawford Lillian Ganter by Councilman Smalley, seconded by Councilman Buxton, to REPORT ON STATUS OF CASE OF CITY VS. C.A.B.: The City Attorney reported that he has fi led with the Federal Court a motion to augment the record with material important to the City's case with C.A.B. The Court has returned an order to the effect that the City Attorne.y may lodge documents wi th the Court which may be referred to in arguments and briefs. The Clerk of the Court has not received a complete record from C.A.B. however, at such time it is received the City Attorney will obtain the record and have copies made. DISCUSSION OF GOLF COURSE FEES: The Council was advised that the City Manager has received opinions from the Men's and Women's Golf Clubs and will submit copies of the tabulation of rates for Council review. RENEWAL OF GOLF PRO CONCESSION AGREEMENT - July 1, 1962 - June 30, 1964: The Golf Pro Concession Contract was read in full by the City Ma na 9e r. On a motion by Councilman Smalley, seconded by Councilman Buxton, it was unanimously carried concession agreement with Golf Pro 'din Howe be renewed for the period commencing duly 1, 1962 and endin9 June 30, 1964, and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same. GIORNO PARK CONCESSION AGREEMENT- M. L. BOSWELL: On a motion by Councilman Smal!ey, seconded by Councilman Buxton, it was unanimously carried concession agreement with M. L. Boswell for concession at Giorno Park be renewed for the period of one year commencin9 July l, 1962 and endin9 June 30, 1963, and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same. BI DS FOR PROPANE GAS REQUIREMENTS - 1962-63 Tabulation of bids received for propane gas requirements for 1962-63 were reviewed as fol!ows: Suburban Gas Supply - 7.41¢ per gal. Petrolane Gas - 7.85¢ " " Pioneer Co. - 7.85¢ " " Shell Oil Co. - 7.34¢ " " On a motion by Councilman Smalley, seconded by Counciiman Banker, it was unanimously carried the bid for propane 9as requirements for 1962-63 be awarded to the Shell Oil Company for the bid amount of 7.34¢ per gallon and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to negotiate a contract for same. 1962-63 BUDGET: Copies of the 1962-63 Proposed Budget were distributed to the Council and the City Manager's Budget Message was read in full by Mr. Cash. It was agreed the Council would meet in budget session on Monday, July 2, 1962 at 8:OOP.M. ANNUAL EMPLOYEES' DINNER JUNE 29, 1962: Members of the Council were reminded of the City Employees' Annual Dinner to be held at the House of Garner on Friday evening June 29, 1962. RENTAL RATES FOR USE OF SWIMMING POOL BY SPECIAL AND PRIVATE GROUPS: The Council was advised that the Recreation & Parks Commission have recommended the fo] lowing rates be charged for use of the Municipal Poo! by Special and Private groups: 2O7 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH JUNE 27, 1962 - PAGE 3 Special Recreational Groups - $3.00 per hour - 20 or ]ess. $5.00 per hour - More than 20. Private Groups or Clubs - :$7.50 Der hour - 20 or less. $]0.00 per hour - Note than 20. On a motion by Councilman Buxton, seconded by Councilman Smal!ey, it was unanimously carried rates recommended by the Recreation & Parks Commission as outlined above be approved. ADJOURNMENT: As there was no further regular business, Mayor Wagner declared the meeting adjourned at 9:30 P. M. after which the Council re-convened in closed personnel session.
