The City Council convened in regular session in the Council Chambers at 8..OO P.M. wi th Mayor Runkel, Councilmen Wagner, Buxton and Banker present. Councilman Smalley was absent. APPROVAL OF MINUTES On a motion by Councilman Wagner, seconded by Councilman Buxton, it was unanimously carried the minutes of November 20, 1963 be approved as submitted by theClerk. ORDINANCE NO. 557 APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED "ANNEXATION NO. 64-1" TO THE CITY OF UKIAH: On a motion by Councilman Wagner, seconded by Councilman Banker, it was unanimously carried Ordinance No. 557 be adopted, and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign same "An Ordinance App- roving The Annexation of Certain Uninhabited Territory, Designated 'Annexation 64-1' To The City of Ukiah." COUNCILMAN SMALLEY ARRIVED AT THIS POINT IN THE MEETING - 8:03 P.M. CITY ATTORNEY'S OPINION REGARDING OBTAINING NATURAL GAS IN THIS AREA The Council reviewed an opinion prepared by the City Attorney at the request of Councilman Banker regarding the possible methods which could be used in bringing natural gas to this area. Members of the Council agreed that an economic feasibility study should be conducted first, and authorized the City Manager to obtain cost estimates from various consulting firms for performing such a study. AWARD OF BID FOR ELECTRIC METER TESTING EQUIPMENT The City Manager reported that a single bid was received for the furnishing of electric meter testing equipment by Knopp, Inc. in the amount of $3,525.00. Mr. Cash informed the Council that the equipment meets all specifications and is within the budgeted amount for this item. On a motion by Councilman Wagner, seconded by Councilman Smalley, it was unanimously carried bid for the furnishing of electric meter testing equipment in the amount of $3,525.00 be awarded to Knopp, Inc. APPROVAL OF SPECIAL WARRANTS On a motion by Councilman Wagner, seconded by. Councilman Buxton, it was unanimously carried Special Warrants ~n the amount of $142.75 be approved and ord.ered paid. BID CALL FOR REPLACEMENT STATION WAGON DELAYED UNTIL DEC. 10, 1963 The City Manager requested the Council approve delaying the bid opening for one replacement station wagon origina!ly scheduled for December 3rd until 2:00 P.M., December 10, 1963. On a motion by Councilman Smalley, seconded by Councilman Banker, itwas unanimously carried the Clerk be authorized to call for bids for the furnishing of one replacement station wagon, bids to be opened at 2:00 P.M., December 10, 1963. MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UKIAH NOVEMBER 27, 1963 - PAGE 2 PROPOSED SUPERVISORIAL RED I STRI CT I NG The City Manager distributed to the Council copies of the information presented to the County Board of Supervisors on November 26th, containing the City's proposal for equitable redistricting of the supervisorial districts within the County. COUNCILMAN RUNKEL Councilman Runkel enquired as to the status of the agreement with Joe Mayfield for maintenance of the private roadway serving his property and was informed by the City Attorney that the agreement has been signed and returned by Mr. May- field. The Council was also informed that Mr. Mayfield has indicated that the other owners using the private roadway are interested in entering into a maintenance agreement so as to provide a definite proration of costs. This agreement is being prepared by the City Attorney as a con- venience to Mr. Mayfield and the property owners. ADJOURNMENT As there was no further regular business, Mayor Runkel wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and declared the meeting ad- journed at 8..31 P.M. ATTEST: ' city'Clerk
