VOLUNTEER FIREMENS' ASSOCIATION
WITHDRAW REQUEST FOR WAIVER OF
BUSINESS LICENSE FEE
The City Manager reported that he had been advised by the
Volunteer Firemens' Association that their request for waiver
of the business license fee had been withdrawn on the basis
of the discussion of the Council with Mr. Rains, the Associa-
tion's representative, at the time the request was presented,
and that a budget request for the 1964-65 fiscal year would
be forthcoming.
CITY RECEIVED CREDIT OF
$13,443.43 FROM PACIFIC GAS
AND ELECTRIC COMPANY
The Council was advised that a credit had been received on
the current month's P.G. & E. billing in the amount of $13,443.43
and that a combined total of approximately an additional $100
had also been credited on other direct P.G. & E. billings
to the City. This was the result of a Public Utilities
Commission order connected with an overcharge to P.G. & E.
for natural gas used in generation of power. It was pointed
out that the cost of refunding to individual customers would
off-set any customer benefit since the amount to be refunded
would be less than $4.00 per customer and that the public
interest would be best served by receiving the total amount
into the electric fund for allocation in the coming budget.
